Has anyone posted that article about Jennifer Morrision’s contract being up in another thread yet?
I went looking for it but couldn’t find it. I don’t think it was a written Ask Ausellio. He does live FB question/answer sessions so I think it may have been one of those?
It wasn’t. The one for Ask Aussiello confirmed that a lot of the actors contracts are up(not just JMO) and that S7 was not a slam dunk for renewal.
The articles came from when JMO did her podcast interview.
[adrotate group="5"]January 25, 2017 at 11:15 am #332818thedarkonedearieParticipantYeah seriously I think this is pretty obvious. JMo, like many others, feels the show has run it’s course. She probably wouldn’t mind leaving. I think it’s clear she may not be as enthusiastic about the show as she once was. That being said, she never said she explicitly was done with the show nor did she really hint at it. She said she wants to see the character through. A lot of what hjibau is saying is just assumption. As Rumple’s Girl said, she can both be getting kind of sick with the show, but also want to see it through. It’s why so many of you still watch the show today. So let’s get the arrogance out of the way and just agree that JMo is the center of the show and the show would not be the same without her and that while she may be getting tired of the role, she has never indicated she didn’t want to see the character to the end.
January 25, 2017 at 3:42 pm #332819hjbauParticipantExcept, my first sentence was that Jennifer has implied she wants off the show, but would be willing to do one more season. That is exactly what i said. That is what she said. She said she doesn’t want to do this forever. Jennifer said that. I also am not going to just pretend that she is completely happy with the direction of the show when everything about her behavior and the way she has talked about the show implies otherwise.
Jennifer has been more interested in her other projects for years. When she does outside interviews, that Nerd HQ or the recent interview, she talks about her other projects. Sure, when she is at an Ouat event she talks about Ouat because that is part of her job. The actors are given talking points. Jennifer is told she has to stand next to Colin. Jennifer’s contract is up. She now has a little bit of an upper hand. She can say that she is ready to move on because she is the main character and removing Emma from the story would change everything. It is of value to her to say that, not only because it is true, but because it gives her an upper hand in negotiating because she could take it or leave it. It is of value to her if she is renegotiating her contract for one more year to have fans and interviewers asking Adam and ABC if she is leaving. She wants to finish off the character, but she wants to move on. That is the decision she has to make and there are moving parts within that decision.

Uhhhh…..one tries to find common ground……
Can you tell me where she “implied she wants off the show?” And can you tell me how you came to the conclusion that Jennifer is unhappy with the direction of the show simply because she said “she doesn’t want to do this forever?” That is a big assumption. Many actors say that they don’t see themselves playing this role forever. But that doesn’t mean they don’t like the show anymore and definitely want out. Those are still assumptions. Perhaps you are right. But perhaps you are not right. You make it seem like you are so far up Jennifer’s rear that you know exactly how she’s feeling based on a few general indifferent remarks. I tried to come to a common ground and drop it. But since you were incapable of meeting at that point, please quote everything Jennifer has ever said that “heavily implies” that she wants off the show or that she doesn’t like the direction the show has taken. And I’m not talking about ridiculous assumptions based on her saying she doesn’t want to do the show forever. That proves nothing. I’m talking concrete proof because THAT is the way you have been arguing your point; as if there is concrete proof with no other interpretation. So let’s see it. Let’s see the concrete proof because this is getting a little ridiculous, and quite frankly, annoying because once again, the negativity is off the charts.
January 25, 2017 at 5:26 pm #332822RumplesGirlKeymasterWe’re all getting off the path here. What JMo personally feels–negative or positive–is going to be pretty hard to discern concretely because we are not her and all we have are her soundbites/interviews/podcasts that range from enthusiastic to hoping to take on other projects and everything in between. We also have a lot of assumptions but that’s all they are…assumptions.. We aren’t taking into account the fact that she’s a complex person with probably a variety of opinions on the show, her character, the writing, ect and that we will never know the full extent of her mind no matter what the outcome of S7/her contract is. Actors live by press. She could hate this show with every fiber of her being and she’d still do her due diligence.

Also true. No way of really knowing for sure. We certainly could get that insight after this season.
January 26, 2017 at 9:46 am #332832thedarkonedearieParticipantI will say what’s interesting at least is that since contracts are up and the show’s future is uncertain, it makes many characters vulnerable. We would always say well there’s no way this person could die…..but now, anyone could really bite the dust which makes things a little more intriguing.

I don’t think anyone will die. I think they will be written off, but not killed. The only character I can see being killed is Zelena. BC of how irrelevant she has become.
BTW here’sa new interview with Robert about the future. His contract much like JMO’s is clearly up this year. It’s safe to say the entire S1 cast is in need of contract renewals.

Zelena has a newborn child. I don’t think they will kill her for that alone. Write her off as she goes back to Oz or something, sure. But I don’t see any reason why she has to die even if she is not involved in the story.
I think the biggest bet for a death is rumple.

That confirms at least two singers for the episode.
