As revealed in last month’s finale, Mr. Hyde (played by Sam Witwer) — as part of his backroom deal with Rumplestiltskin — has transported to Storybrooke a throng of denizens from the Land of Untold Stories.
Among the new arrivals will be Sinbad, and to that end the ABC drama is seeking a 30something Middle Eastern/Arabic or Northern African male to play a roguishly charming and quick-witted hero who knows the power of kindness but as of late has lost faith in his ability to lead his people. Paging Covert Affairs/Nurse Jackie alum Haaz Sleiman…?
Also being cast to debut in early Season 6 is Scheherazade, the famous spinner of the tale of One Thousand and One Nights. Here, the character is envisioned as a regal Middle Eastern/Arabic beauty who never backs down from a good fight and can go toe-to-toe with even the toughest adversaries. This is Alphas spitfire Azita Ghanizada’s role to lose, amiright?

Yeah.
1) Both of these characters are from “One Thousand and One Nights”, like Aladdin is.

4) They tend to incorporate fake names and sometimes even fake descriptions, when they do casting calls. Most infamous example was when they pretended to be casting Rumple’s mother, and it turned out to be Merida.
5) Both these characters’ casting calls coming out simultaneously implies that they will be connected. Sinbad and Scheherazade are both in “One Thousand and One Nights”, but they don’t actually interact directly. Scheherazade play the role of the storyteller, and Sinbad is one of the stories she tells.
6) They’re specifically casting for Middle-Eastern actors, which fits with Aladdin and Jasmine.
7) We saw two characters who suspiciously looked like they could have been Aladdin and Jasmine in the Land of Untold Stories in the Season 5 finale.

Yeah Aladdin was always a very clever street rat. Especially how he had Jafar fall for his trick to have him wish to be a genie and be imprisoned in his very first and only lamp. “Al you little genius you!”

Yeah that certainly sounded like a clue that they might have plans for them to appear.
If this really is Aladdin & Jasmine, as we’re all thinking and nine times out of ten are right about, then I’m terrified the “changes” Adam and Eddy are going to make for their characters….especially after the train wreck that was Hercules and Meg.

I’m also willing to place cookies on these two (Aladdin & Jasmine or otherwise) being the big Comic-Con footage tease reveal.
It’ll be Aladdin and Jasmine ‘cos they had their own Disney movie. But damn, I wish it was all four! I was hoping for Sinbad since 5X23. Scheherazade is also such an amazing woman. I could see her being friends with Belle. I’m also really glad that they’re finally drawing from the mythology of the Arabian Nights. The Nights are an absolute goldmine!
