There is obviously something really weird going on if there is a scene with a ten year old Lucy and Emma’s second newborn baby. In the same scene. There might be some weird flashback, time travel, dream thing going on, but really the writers are just incompetent and don’t care.

This can be explained by the fact that SB henry is an adult and wish realm Henry is a teen, so that makes sense for them to end face to face. And yes, I’m trying to simply ignore timeline now.

There does seem to be some weird suggestion that it is in the past in Storybrooke, but that doesn’t make a bit of sense.

Wish realm henry should be the same age as real Henry

Getting back to the spoiler, personally I don’t think it’s actually “critical” plot wise. I think it’s more emotionally critical–like Snow and Charming give Henry some valuable advise that helps him with Ella because 1) the writers think that HenElla are the same as Snowing and 2)JMo only film one scene–the big party scene–that wasn’t conducive to her doling out love and life advice.

I wonder if the scene will take place in adult Henry’s mind, with Jared playing the part of Henry’s subconscious, the youthful idealism and optimism that adult Henry has forgotten. Accepting that side of himself could be the last step toward breaking the curse — or rather, having already broken the curse, recovering from it.

On the other hand, Henry has an inferiority complex (as seen in 7×16 “Breadcrumbs”) concerning his childhood role models that leads him to make bad decisions. He needs to have a conversation about that with his younger self.

Well since Josh and Ginny filmed more than one day, unlike the other returns like Jen who seem to film one day and for a short time, it might be possible that the Charmings were called for help by people like Regina and Zelena or Alice and Robin too.
