So back to the question I posed. What do you think the new condition will be? S1 was “magic is coming” so could S2 be “magic is dying”?
We’ve already had several conditions:
S1) First dark curse is broken and magic is coming.
S2) Regina plans to kill everyone in SB by triggering a fail-safe, causing the town of SB nearly to disappear.
S3a) Magic, and by extension Peter Pan, are dying in NL, meaning PP needs the heart of the truest believer. Later, Peter Pan’s curse is cast in Sb. Regina reverses the first dark curse, erasing SB and sending nearly everyone (except Emma and Henry) back to EF.
S3b) Snow and Charming recast the dark curse, bringing everyone back from EF and recreating SB. Then Zelena’s time-travel spell.
S4a) Ingrid’s Spell of Shatter Sight.
S4b) Rumple’s quest to get Isaac to rewrite the story is fulfilled. So the question becomes, what sort of new condition could there be? We’ve had magical conditions coming out of the wazoo. What else is there since we’ve already had realm-jumping, time-travel and are about to have an AU? We already have seen the dark curse being cast three times! Is there anything else left that is new under the sun?

We’ve already had a several conditions: S1) First dark curse is lifted and magic is coming. S2) Regina plans to kill everyone in SB by triggering a fail-safe. With Emma’s help, Regina corrects that mistake S3a) Peter Pan’s curse is cast. Regina sends everyone back to EF. S3b) Snow and Charming recast the dark curse bringing everyone back to SB.
Well, this is going to be crackpot, but I wonder if it’s maybe not about magic at all. Rather, perhaps Isaac’s messing with the story somehow disrupts the cosmic order of the universe whereby worlds meant to be be held apart begin to collapse together. Blue, at least, seems to care about the great order of things (her comment that the DO curse isn’t meant for this world comes to mind). I’ve no idea what the result of that might be, but it would be logical if messing with the story would be more disruptive than simply making the characters’ lives complicated.
May 7, 2015 at 3:09 pm #304144TheWatcherParticipant@Nevermore That’d make sense. Regina said earlier this season, something like “There are mysterious forces at work and [Snow and Charming] messed with them.”

It really seemed like in season 2, with greg and tamara working to destroy magic, that that’s where the show was going. Outsiders coming to storybrooke and possibly declaring war on magic.
I would love to see outsiders in storybrooke. People witnessing magic and becoming believers. This would also have the potential for great new villains and drama.
Nonbelievers in storybrooke could have an unprecedented effect on the magic there.
I’d also want this to connect back to the Dragon from season 2.
Maybe touch on the people that worked with Greg and Tamara.
With outsiders coming to storybrooke, to protect magic, everyone in storybrooke realizes that they have to go back to the enchanted forest.

While I think the idea of intruders coming to SB and wanting to destroy magic was an interesting one, I have a feeling that notion was totally abandoned when Tamara and Greg were so quickly done away in Neverland. Plus, the magic taser idea was a total fail. I think that idea wasn’t just put on the back burner; it got totally scrapped.

I tend to agree with you, but the fact that the Dragon was mentioned this season and August will be in the Finale gives me a little hope.

Yeah, maybe. But unless the twist is that Greg shows up in SB seeking revenge, having somehow survived his shadow-ripping like the Blue Fairy did, then I think that idea is over since the “home office” just turned out to be Peter Pan’s trick to lure in Tamara and Greg.
