😮 MAMI WATA!!!! They said Ursula would return, right. What if Ursula is Mami Wata!!! I remember a story of mami wata who I think is a mermaid. A little girl was involved… Oh my god >_< I'm freaking out right now. I used to love that story because I had a book of African American tales and that story was the only one featuring a mermaid because mermaids aren't that prevalent in our culture
Mami Wata is a powerful spirit that can bestow upon one horde of wealth, health, power and immense beauty. The spirit however, demands in return, a strict confidential sexual fidelity. The goddess sprit is difficult to please and any slight displeasure caused to the spirit by the human partner will result in the complete removal of all the accumulated wealth and powers of the human being, rendering the unfaithful mate helpless in the world. There are festivities that are celebrated in Western Africa even today, of which Mami Wata forms an important part.
What if the girl is apart of that story... And that is when Urusla will make her return. Mami Wata is a sea goddess, Ursula is a sea goddess!

Hm….I love that speculation, if only they could be so creative.  Yvette Nicole Brown is awesome so more of her would be good even if we just get her voice on Bad CGI again.  Maybe the younger girl is showing how she became that goddess?

Lancelot was such a minor character, that I doubt they would suddenly introduce a relative when there has been no lead up to it whatsoever.

Yeah, I tend to agree that a child of Lancelot’s would be a bit random. Much as I’d like to see him again, suddenly bringing his daughter into it would seem a bit weird. Had to look up how old Sinqua Walls is, and he’s 28, so if Lancelot’s meant to be 30-ish, that’s barely old enough to have a teenage daughter.

Maybe they are delving into AFRICAN or AFRICAN AMERICAN LORE… I am sure there are fables/ stories not necessarily well known by cultures out side of the USA. MOST Americans know very little about the stories from other ethnic groups. I for one would like to learn more. Nonnie

Nonnie I totally love this idea!! It would be nice to bring in some non-western tales.

So TBS was airing the Wizard of Oz tonight and as I watched I couldn’t help think about this casting call. Particularly this part:

who comes across as skittish and timid, having had her naturally curious and determined spirit tempered by years of crippling fear

This reminds me a lot of Dorothy.

Whether it was The Witch or the Wizard or Mrs. Gultch, Dorothy exhibits a lot of fear but when she has to, she gets right up in the faces of those foes and yells at them and give them a piece of her mind.

I’m siding with Phee on this one…

    New girl = Dorothy = Tamara’s grandmother 😀

It’s some of the crackiest crack I’ve ever cooked up, so you’d best believe that I’ll be happy dancing if it ends up being true. 😆
