Ouch indeed. 😆
So if we assume that Bae went from NL to NJ, that jump was made 7 years after Curse Day. But Hook had already left NL for FTL before Curse Day. So Hook left NL before Bae did?
Or do timey wimey differences between different worlds negate this whole argument?
Well I do believe that Hook left NL before Bae and the reason why Bae left was because he knew what Hook was doing in FTL. I think Bae accidentally told Hook about the dagger and when he realized what Hook was planning on doing, fled to our world.
Wibbly wobbly…timey wimey. But maybe it does make sense.[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 30, 2013 at 5:19 pm #190074kfchimeraParticipantIt does make me dizzy to try to be exact but I think the main point I was making is time stands still for aging in Neverland. Maybe it stands still also means that timey wimey jumps happen too…not sure it matters who left first as the curse was not why Hook left (he left before it was cast) and Bae could have had another stop too. I think RG’s idea there is a good suggestion–Bae revealed the dagger and Hook went back to FTL then.
I also like RG’s idea that Bae’s shadow is Peter’s—does the scene of Bae ever have a shot where he ought to have a shadow and does not or has one visible? Hey we searched for a freckle on a hand….

April 30, 2013 at 5:23 pm #190076SlurpeezParticipantI believe Bae would have come through 8 years after Curse Day, which is Oct. 23, 1983, which is also Emma’s birthday. Neal’s supposed birthday is March 23, 1977. Neal would have been about age 14, having not aged while in NL.
1977 + 14 = 1991.
1991 – 8 = 1983.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That was an interesting week.
Have we seen Bae outside in the sun much? Now I feel like I need to go back and watch everything to see how he is lit. Of course, it doesn’t mean my theory isn’t true if he does have a shadow. Bae could have reclaimed his shadow once he was in NL.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 30, 2013 at 5:39 pm #190080KebParticipantWell…on the note of Emma’s birthday…the newspaper reads October 23rd -after- the curse rolls in, the day that Regina wakes up and the Flynns walk into town in the morning.
It was night in SB when the curse rolled in, though it was apparently daylight yet when Emma and Pinocchio came through the tree. So…logic dictates that Emma was born the 22nd, not the 23rd.
Further evidence? Henry shows up late at night on her birthday. She takes him to Storybrooke that evening. She spends the night in jail (having hit the sign and knocked herself out). The next night, at 8:15 pm, she decides to stay in Storybrooke for a week. The clock ticks. 12 hours away in Phucket, the date on the screen reads October 24th, 8:15 AM., when August starts turning back to wood. That means it’s October 23rd in Storybrooke, and that means her birthday was the 22nd.
Now, whether the showrunners will actually get that right should it come up again is an interesting question. But on my timeline, Emma’s birth is the 22nd of October, 1983.

Yeah, it was almost definitely discovering that there was a weapon to kill The Dark One that caused Hook to leave NL when he did. If he found out from Bae, I’m dying to see how that all went down, and why Hook left instead of trying to get more info out of him. And then whenever Bae did leave himself, what was his reason? The hiatus before season 3 is gonna really suck, given how eager I am for them to delve into this stuff.
I also like RG’s idea that Bae’s shadow is Peter’s—does the scene of Bae ever have a shot where he ought to have a shadow and does not or has one visible? Hey we searched for a freckle on a hand….
😆 Well FWIW, there didn’t appear to be a shot of him in the street that showed where his feet met the road. There’s only one section when he’s inside where you see his feet touching the floor, and my tired eyes didn’t see anything shadowy, however that part of the shot is sort of dimly lit, and he’s running over a patterned rug, so I can’t say for certain. It’s at the 51 second mark if anyone else wants to investigate. The shots of Nana under the table have what looks like a shadow next to her, which was likely cast by something in front of her, but it doesn’t appear to move like you’d expect his to if he’s backing away from her.
April 30, 2013 at 5:49 pm #190085RumplesGirlKeymasterIf Neal was shown with a shadow in present day it doesn’t mean his shadow wasn’t Pan at some point. Part of his back story could be losing his shadow when he went through the bean hole but then re-finding it and stitching it back to his body, with Wendy’s help, once he was in NL.

I think this is hilarious – from the freckle on the hand to the mysterious shadow/no shadow observation test. The hardest part is figuring out this blasted timeline with so little concrete information. And not just lack of dates (which would certainly help) but trying to discover relational dates – Hook with Milah, Hook with Bae, Bae with Emma, when Bae came to our world. WOW. The freckle was way easier.
I don’t really see Hook keeping Bae away from Milah if they were in NL at the same time. So I vote no Milah and Bae together in NL (based on nothing)

All the bits I mentioned in my previous post were from the 8 minute preview where he meets Wendy, at which point he’d have to be shadow-less for the theory to work. Results are inconclusive.
April 30, 2013 at 6:05 pm #190091RumplesGirlKeymasterYay inconclusive! 😆
