Sweetgrass–I’m so confused by your post. Malcolm is Pan’s core. In both persona’s, he wants to play and fool people all day, not living up to his responsibility to be a father. Malcolm drank to forget his cares, and played card shark games but Pan had pixie dust and more violent gambling games. He did have some more ambition and leadership potential, but I took it as Malcolm growing more powerful over the centuries leading to that cockiness in Pan. As Malcolm he had little to nothing, but both only cared about Rumple to the extent he might be useful in some way. He was a user either way.
Anyway, it wouldn’t make sense now to change it, fun as it may be to speculate on what they could have done.
Wicked Regal: I suppose it is possible that Cora had an affair and gave the child away or had twins and hid one, but we’ll have to see how they approach it.
I’d rather they go back to fill in the blanks on breadcrumbs already sprinkled then just drop in this half-baked loaf of a new child never hinted or spoken about before. We know Maleficient and Regina had a relationship enough to call each other “old friends” and we know Maleficient held the curse. Regina used her in a very particular and extra-special horrible way as the guardian of her fail-safe. Although Regina did not kill her, the people who more directly did are all sort of out of reach of WWW, if she’d even care about the details. Fact is, Regina cast that curse to send all curses and there really ought to be some vengeful villainous types who are “so not ok with it” and out for Regina’s blood.
That is a story I would want to see rather than some more Pan-Rumple-tortured messed up family dynamic thing again.
If they have to put her on the family tree, then I’d say let’s explore Charmings, but not sure how they would do it so as not to create the feeling that there was a lack of foreshadowing there.

December 23, 2013 at 11:23 am #233422TheWatcherParticipantI know that Cora is literally a heartless woman and all…. But am I the only one who doesn’t see her cheating with the wizard? To some degree, though she may not have loved Henry Sr, she cares about him to some point. She stayed with him for all these years (even after they were no longer royalty for whatever reason) and when she became the queen of hearts, she kidnapped him. True she locked him in a box, but if she hadn’t cared and was only using him for his throne, then shed have been done with a long time ago.
For me to see Cora having an affair with the wizard (nothing more than a powerless human at that) it just doesn’t make sense. Why would she? And then why would she go back to Henry? If she loved one more than the other I could understand but we know that isn’t the case. One could say it was to be the queen of Oz that she went to the wizard, but wouldn’t she just kill him? Its not like he could fight back >>

We don’t know that she was no longer royalty. They were living comfortably as members of the elite class, the youngest son who would never inherit. And I actually don’t think Cora ever cared for Henry Sr. He was a means to an end, the crown. She needed him to get power. And I think she only kidnapped Henry Sr and took him to WL for the intent of getting Regina to come get him because Cora was under the delusion for a long time that Regina didn’t love her. It was only moments before the Curse when Regina gave her confession about how Cora always had her heart that Cora realized she didn’t want revenge on Regina.

We don’t know how the Wizard will be depicted in ONCE. We don’t know he is a powerless human. And people have affairs for a slew of reasons: money, sex, love, power, alliances. If Oz could give her something Henry couldn’t and if the deal was mutually beneficial then I could see her doing it.
With all that being said, I’m still hesitant about WickedSisters. Part of me thinks that ONCE needs to stop having external forces and start dealing with the internal struggles of our character. There is so much drama with those guys alone to fuel a show. Think about S1. Regina and Gold may have been the villains but apart from Regina trying to drive out Regina they didn’t do the things our villains of S2 and S3 have done. And I think we all agree that S1 was stellar.
Each season is becoming: external big bad messes with family and maybe there is some character development but I’m starting to feel like we’re not getting anywhere.
Ok. That was my mini-rant.
I’m sure I’ll be fine with whatever they do but if insist on external danger to mess with everyone, I’d rather it not be a member of the family.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 23, 2013 at 12:01 pm #233433TheWatcherParticipantI dont think Cora and Henry were royals anymore. They were obviously high class rich people, but I chop that up to the fact that Cora can spin straw into gold. By the looks of their home, they live nicely but not enough for kings and queens, and if so, surely King Leopold would have acknowledged that. They didn’t wear crowns or anything and didn’t Regina say to Daniel that she didn’t want to be a Queen? We only know they were royals because of the Millers Daughter episode and that was a season later. I really have a feeling they lost their royal status because of a certain imp >>
About the wizard, you’re right we don’t know how he will be portrayed on Once… He just usually is almost always a human without any form of magic. Now if they do take a note from the novel version of Wicked then I TOTALLY see why Cora would have an affair with the Wizard. That man was just plain evil and murder all the way through and a mirror image of Cora. Keep in mind that he had no magic in that version either but still… He was a monster He killed children >> can you get lower than that?

Maybe but again, Henry Sr was the youngest of Xavier’s children. Which means less money, less land, less prestige. It’s not as if the queen and king go around wearing a crown 24/7. In fact, when we met Xavier he’s not wearing a crown at all.
