The key word to the Neal spoiler is that Charming and Snow don’t “immediately” agree, suggesting they eventually do. I think Hook will go off on his own though and beat Neal to a portal that can only transport one person to our world. Hence, why Hook ends up in NYC and Neal doesn’t. Maybe Neal then gets captured by the WWW, which would be a very good reason why he’s not been spotted filming outdoors. He might be trapped indoors, like Cyrus was trapped for a good part of the WL series (until he escaped to find Alice).

I sorta like the idea of Hook and Neal working together.
Neal gives Hook a note for Emma, which he gives her in telling her to go to Neal’s appt where she sees the dream catcher. And then Emma busts out Hook from jail and then drinks his potion.
