Oh nothing really happened to him. He felt like a rose for a couple of hours, heard how Belle didn’t really love him at all, and probably turned back and set free. he did it for that exact propose. to have Gaston hear WHY Belle sacrificed herself for her people, and how she felt about her “betrothed” it was a clever little move :)

Uh…no. I’m pretty sure Belle cut of his legs….

The [inaudible] is “No le pause”. Odd that he used a French term.

Is it? I thought he said no “matter the cost”

I also re-watched the clip of Rumple killing Malcolm. I think the bit which the transcript failed to record is “No la paz,” which is Spanish for “No peace.”

no loopholes, guys, no loopholes *sigh*
he’s a lawyer. he’s been looking for loopholes so he wouldn’t have to die… the squid ink… pandoras box…. the town line… the cuff…. but none worked: Pan always won. so now there are no loop holes

Marty is correct. The part that is inaudible in the transcript is really Rumple saying, “No loopholes.” I just re-watched the video on ABC.com with the captions, which officially confirm that part. “No loopholes” NOT “No, la paz” and NOT “No, le pause,”

If he stabbed himself, which he did, he would have felt something. Maybe Belle thinks that because he didn’t express any pain that his act of sacrifice protected him and that he actually wasn’t killed, but sent somewhere?

Maybe she realizes that the golden light was something more than what it seemed.

That’s what I’m thinking…….I mean, when she cast the cloaking spell, there was golden light – and when she opened the sand dollar.  Gold light/Gold magic must be his magic/their own magic….I don’t think that it will be something so obvious that anyone can see it; I think it will be something that only Belle would know…….

Yep, it was “no loopholes”. I loved that entire speech…….god, my baby was so heroic.  I recall in Broken that he used a loophole when he promised Belle that he wouldn’t kill Regina…….this was it for him. He was doing what he had to do at the highest cost ……….sigh.   I’m really upset that he sacrifices himself and his curse isn’t even broken in so doing…….that just seems so unfair.

Whilst it is sad the Rumple’s curse was broken when he sacrificed himself, at the same time it set it up so that when it does get broken (perhaps by Belle’s TLK or Rumple’s love for Belle and Bae overriding the control of the dagger and thus the curse, since the Disney BatB curse was to teach the beast to love) it will be epic!

All magic comes with a price!

I hope so! I guess since it’s the B&B story, they can’t NOT have a moment like that. I’m not necessarily one for kisses breaking curses since I think working hard, changing  -or, as you mentioned here and I’ve pleaded for, Gold’s love overcoming the dagger’s magic – is far more satisfying…….. HOWEVER, it would be so beautiful, sigh. I’d love to see Gold save Belle with a kiss….and I need to see a dance, lol.  I could be wrong, but it seems like the BIG STUFF from the movie hasn’t happened yet. Perhaps they’re saving it for down the line?

Ah, so obvious, and clear as day.  No loopholes!  You are right.   I’m hoping he did find a loophole in the end, cuz I LOVE Rumple.
