SAVED BY THE BELLE? | Kicking things off this Sunday is “Lacey,” an episode in which amnesic Belle adopts an alter ego and delves into a not-at-all-provincial life. Explaining the greater purpose of this, the first of the final four hours, Kitsis says, “We understand that Rumple and/or Mr. Gold is a man who has darkness inside him, and all season he’s been searching for the light, for a way to be better now that his son is in town. And we also know there is a prophecy that said Henry would be his ‘undoing’, and he said to the seer, ‘Well, I’ll just kill him.’ But now that it’s his grandson, he’s facing a conundrum, and Belle has always been the person who’s brought out the best in him. What ‘Lacey’ does is watch Rumple struggle with his inner demon.”
Sounds like we were right and Rumple will have to decide to be good or bad on his own (i.e. without Belle’s influence).

I believe he’ll choose good too (at least as far as returning Belle’s memories and not killing Henry lol).
He does in that one promo tell (Regina I think?) someone that “There will be suffering.” Wonder if that’s Lacey or a later ep.
But I’m rooting for him to choose good, 100%, and bring Belle back and be Grandpastiltskin and Papa and be mostly happy.

Even if Mr. Gold makes the right decision at the last minute to save Henry, I think he could still pay the consequence of sending Neal to another land again or Neal's soul might be sucked out by a Wraith. It's too early for Mr. Gold to have everything the wants.

Oh I agree, far too early in the show for that. Whatever decision he makes, there will be consequences either way. But I think that’s what both he and Regina have to learn: there are consequences for everything. Nobody gets everything they want, but it’s the choices you makes, what side you take, that define you.
