ParticipantMaybe I’m remembering wrong, but we haven’t seen her drink it on the street. Hook hands it to her and she holds it, but we have no set images of her actually drinking it there on the street. Now I think she does but later, maybe at the same time she’s “finding” the dreamcatcher or is with another of her many talismans.
Ok – technically there’s no photo of Emma holding up the vial to her lips, but there are before and after pictures. On the street outside of the police station, 1) Hook hands Emma what appears to be a potion 2) Emma hugs Hook, suggesting she remembers after drinking whatever is in his hand.

And I think in the pic of them hugging, the cork is gone from the top of the bottle?

BlockedVancity and others have said she drinks the potion.
Emma’s not easily charmed by Hook in NYC. Well, our first clue came when she kneed him in the jewels in 3.11. But beyond that, we have the spoilers pics (which Adam and Eddy may or may not know are out there) which show Hook getting arrested, presumably after bugging Emma in the park. Just because it said Emma’s not easily falling for his charm does not mean she won’t in the end. Ultimately they hug, and they both leave w/ Henry in the Bug. No way would she do any of those things if she did not remember him. Besides Hook loves a challenge, so he’s not gonna give up.
Hook knows Emma, so he knows that she’s gonna be stubborn. I mean he’s the one that without even knowing her for ten hours told her she’s an orphan, that’s whom she is. It wasn’t until season three that Emma couldn’t admit that she truly is one so that’s pretty awesome for not knowing someone in ten hours not to mention the whole “being in love” thing and trust issues. He read her like an open book, so of course he knows now getting her memories back isn’t gonna be easy.
Thankfully he has the potion.
2. There’s a “good reason” why Neal didn’t come to NYC.
I still think this is one of two things: either Charming, Snow & Co. find out about the jail OR Neal and Belle get a clue where Rumple is.
Emma’s response to seeing Neal would probably be worse than her reaction to Hook because her last memories of him are not good.
3. Outlaw Queen
The fact that it’s now confirmed that Regina and Robin’s story begins in episode 13 that to me makes it more likely that the person on the gurney is Roland or one of Robin’s merry men and this will somehow connect to Regina/Robin in the past. Perhaps Regina helped then as well and that’s how their story/romance begins in the past/present.

That awaited encounter takes place in the second episode back, airing March 16. But since Regina once already forsook the chance to meet him (in flashback), Kitsis asks: “What does it look like for her to be given a second chance? How does she react to it?” — especially when she’s a bit preoccupied with “huge, more important things,” Horowitz notes, “like the loss of her son, and trying to destroy that Wicked Witch!”I’m really looking forward to Regina and Robin’s first meeting, but I’m going to wager it’ll take Regina quite some time before she accepts what Robin Hood has to offer her. I think their love story will be one that unfolds over a prolonged period of time as they struggle against outside forces like the WWW.
RumplesGirl wrote: WILL HOOK BE ABLE TO JOG EMMA’S MEMORY? The midseason finale closed with Emma and Henry — one year after being sapped of their Storybrooke memories — being visited in New York City by a strange man wearing guyliner and way too much leather. And when he went in for True Love’s Kiss, Emma was having none of it. “Emma’s not easily charmed by him in the real world,” Kitsis reports. “I’ll just say that!”
Hmmmm. We’ve already seen spoiler images of Emma drinking what appears to be a magic potion. By the looks of it, it’s the Blue Fairy’s potion, not TLK, which jogs her memories by the end of 3×12.
RumplesGirl wrote: WHY DID HOOK, AND NOT NEAL, COME FOR EMMA IN NEW YORK CITY?
“There’s a very good reason why Neal didn’t come,” Kitsis assures. (Perhaps Henry’s pop is counted among the “family” Hook arrived to report was “in trouble”?)It’s really nice to hear Eddy Kitsis himself say there is a very good reason why Neal didn’t come in person. And I’m thinking that reason has something to do with Oz, the WWW, and/or Rumple. It’s not that he doesn’t want to be there (after all he’s a native New Yorker), but he’s actually unable to be there. Either Neal’s injured, trapped, or on a quest to save his father.
RumplesGirl wrote: IS NEAL STILL HENRY’S FATHER? Though Regina gifted Emma and Henry with new, “good” memories in which the incarcerated beauty had never given her boy up for adoption, Henry’s paternity remains intact. That said, any eventual reunion won’t necessarily be a joyful one. “In Emma’s current mind. the last time she saw Neal, that guy f—ing let her go to jail,” Kitsis points out. “She doesn’t have the benefit of re-meeting him in New York.”
In other words, Emma and Neal meeting again in Manhattan served a very important purpose in the sense that as soon as she saw him again, Emma realized she’d never stopped loving him. Also, Emma doesn’t remember the true reason Neal left Emma, which was to get her home to her parents, or the fact that he’s sincerely apologized and admitted his regret. Now that she has no memory of her parents, she doesn’t realize the self-sacrifice that Neal made for her. Nevertheless, once Emma remembers who she is by 3×12, then I predict the Swanfire reunion will in fact be a happy one because she’ll remember the true events.
PriceofMagic wrote: HAS BELLE LOST RUMPLE FOREVER? This is where the producers will only offer up a pat, “Keep watching…. The fate of Rumple and Belle is something that’s going to be explored.” Since the Dark One seemingly did himself in, in the course of vanquishing Peter Pan/his father Malcolm, “There’s plenty of story we have in mind for Belle, that we hope the audience likes,” says Horowitz. “Emilie [de Ravin] is fantastic, doing some of her best work that we’ve ever seen.”
I think that Belle is going on a mission to save Rumple, who might’ve ended up in Oz as the WWW’s prisoner after he stabbed Malcolm. This would cast Belle in the spotlight as a hero, which she is after she saved her people and then again saved Prince Philip. While this spoiler is frustratingly cryptic, I’m thinking this could mean something very positive for the future of Rumbelle. If I had to wager, I’d say that Rumbelle is a top contender for am engagement and/or wedding by the end of S3.
RumplesGirl wrote: WHY IS THE WITCH WICKED? With the introduction of Lost alum Rebecca Mader’s emerald enchantress, expect “lots of backstory” on the spring season’s Big Bad. “Whether that unfolds in Storybrooke, the Enchanted Forest or Oz — or all three — remains to be seen,” Horowitz teases. (And no, this Wicked Witch is not also known as either Miss Gulch, Elphaba or any other familiar name, but one of Once’s own creation a la the Evil Queen’s mum Cora.)
I think we’re going to get a glimpse of all three worlds: EF, SB, and Oz, (plus NYC in 3×12). I think we’ll mostly get flashbacks of EF of the past year. Then we’ll zoom to the present-day SB with side-ways parallel to Oz. I’m not too surprised that WWW isn’t named Elphaba or Theodora, since I think Once likes to put its own spin on things.
RumplesGirl wrote: IS THERE A REGINA/WICKED WITCH RIVALRY? Does a dwarf carry a pick axe? Kitsis trumpets the showdown between sorceresses thusly: “Wicked versus Evil! That’s the second half of our season.”
Sounds like a rivalry of WickedSisters to me!
Phee wrote: This should be amazing, I just hope it doesn’t result in another big setback for Regina. She made such great strides with her redemption in 311, and while I don’t want her to ever completely lose the EQ edge, I hope she doesn’t completely revert. I guess that might be how Robin ties into it, she’s gotta be evil to go after WW, but Robin’s there encouraging her better side as well.
I think Robin Hood being in Regina’s life will help to keep Regina on the road to redemption. She might relapse some, but I don’t think she’ll ever again threaten Emma, Snow or Charming. She’s learned she can co-exist with them. Now, Regina’s EvilQueen -ness is directed at her real enemy: the WWW.
I just agree with everything that Slurpez said! I couldn’t have said it better myself!
As far as names for WWW goes…(Accepts cookies from betters) Thank you all for your kind contribution! But I like the name Esmeralda for the WWW and we just call her Esme for short. Cora Mills, Regina Mills, Esme Mills…how wonderfully wicked!
Outlaw Queen…I shall wait for you!!! March is coming soon, and I really wanna see you in action! Seven weeks to go…seven weeks!!!!!! Yes!!!! OUTLAW QUEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And also…um…them referencing Cora…I know a lot of us probably think that he was just using names meaning the character…but I’d like to say something more wicked is underneath that phrase. Once’s own creation a la, Evil Queen’s mother Cora…in my eyes that just screamed that the WWW is of Cora’s creation. But maybe it’s just because I got my WickedSisters goggles on, so….I just can’t wait till March! But I do bet twenty cookies that the WWW will be the Principal of Henry’s School in Storybrooke!

Ok. Just pointing out that we don’t actually have pics nor do we have context.

Matt’s parenthetical addition of Neal being in trouble–as part of the family–still leads me to believe that he’s been injured somehow, incapacitated and unable to go.

We know nothing specific, especially not about the context. Here are two pics of the bottle though.
With cork…
Without cork…

KeymasterI know I’m beating a dead horse but there is no way to know if the hug is pre-drinking or post-drinking.
She simply could have taken the cork out of the bottle.
But that’s what I mean by context. *shrug*
I’m just glad Emma isn’t going to be memory-less for more than episode.

ParticipantI think it makes sense for it to be post-drinking. You drink a potion that causes you to remember that you’ve been separated from a whole lot of people for a whole year and the life you thought you’d lived was a lie, and it’d be an instinctive thing to hug one of said people if they were standing right in front of you. Or maybe she’s standing there stunned and all, “OMG I remember,” and Hook hugs her of his own accord. He’s already tried kissing her a day or so before, so it’d make sense if he leaped at the chance to hug her the moment he knew he could do it without getting kneed in the balls again.
Only about 50 days until we find out the context for sure. *headdesk*

I agree with what you’re saying. I think I’m trying to put together a NYC timeline because we know:
1) Hook accosts her in daytime and is arrested in daytime
2) Emma meets with Mystery Man at night
3) Emma&Hook hug/potion drink in daytime
So something in between Hook being arrested and Emma bailing him out changes Emma’s mind about the crazy man in leather.
In other words, whatever changes Emma’s mind into trusting the pirate happens while Hook is in jail.

Yep. IMO that thing is that Hook gives her Neal’s address as he’s being arrested, she goes there while he’s in jail, sees their dream catcher and whatever she’s looking at with the “that’s not possible”, then she drops the charges against Hook because she now knows he’s not a complete liar creepy stalker guy, and is willing to listen to him, and drink the potion.
