In an AU-wish world, Emma was no longer the Savior; the EQ was defeated and Snowing were really old. What did you think of this AU-world and the characters we saw through a different lens?
[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 4, 2016 at 9:26 pm #331186TheWatcherParticipantI had feelings about this AU.
What I liked:
– Henry is a brave knight!
– Emma has a great relationship with her parents.
– The queen’s castle in ruins was a nice touch.
– Rump is crazy and I love it.
– Everyone seems genuinely happy. This seems the stereotypical “Happily Ever After” that comes at the end of the story.
What I didn’t like:
– Emma and Snow seem so bubblegum, sugary sweet. Snow wasn’t like that in the EF already, and Emma was just plain weak. Ugh.
– The…timeline…logic? Henry was still a thing here? By Neal? Okay so how did Neal live centuries into the future to be with Emma in the EF? What made Rumpel want to create the dark curse if Neal was alive and well in the realm? Even if you make the argument that the wish only made it so that EQ was defeated in this timeline, that doesn’t account for the fact that Neal should still have been in NVL or our world by that point. Just don’t get it, and of course, I’m thinking too hard.
– Why does Rump have a magic bean? There aren’t supposed to be any left…
– Not a nitpick but just wanted to point it out: The Evil Queen isn’t dead. They seemed to have banished her, did they not? No one here ever says she’s dead, just defeated, right? I think that’s going to be important.

Not to mention the fact that a magic bean is one more thing that negates the need for a dark curse. *shrug*

December 4, 2016 at 11:19 pm #331214TheWatcherParticipantHonestly, I want more time in this world and to see how different things are and how it all would have played out if Regina had been defeated. I’m 50/50 on what I’ve seen, but I liked it.
On a different note:
Now that we know how RH will get back to SB….I don’t like it. It doesn’t feel right. This is a “fake” Robin, afterall. A copy. Made by a genie for a fake world. if they bring him back and attempt to have regina continue on and love him like normal, it will feel like a replacement Robin. I don’t like that much.

It was an extremely powerful moment when Regina refused to harm fake Henry, and savior Emma woke up, both to save Regina’s life and to save Henry from killing someone.
BUT …
Henry was about to straight up kill someone who was unwilling to defend themselves. That would have been murder. This seems like a bad road for heroic prince Sir Henry to be going down.
Is this foreshadowing?
How much does it have to do with how he was raised? Of course he was raised by our heroes, but princess Emma was … pretty wishy-washy!
If it is that, then the Henry who was raised by then-evil Regina has better morals than the Henry raised by wimpy princess Emma! 😯

Ehh.. I disagree with that. From Henry’s perspective, Regina was an evil queen who had tried to kill his grandparents and mother for years, and now here she is standing in front of him having just murdered his grandparents. To henry, it was self defense. To him, she was a murderer. So I think its justified.
Is this foreshadowing?
I actually get the impression this Henry is going to be pretty dark. Idk what it was but something just gives me that impression…idk. But I bet all the cookies.

Interesting note. So will Emma and Regina meet up with the AU Evil Queen in the dream world, so that Lana can keep playing two roles? lol
December 5, 2016 at 7:41 am #331252RumplesGirlKeymasterOverall I thought this world was ridiculous. There are good ideas here and some good execution; Emma growing up a princess who had everything she ever wanted and was beloved by family, friend, and subject alike made perfect sense. Of course Emma’s life would be radically different; no only would she be unmagical but she wouldn’t be that scared, stunned orphan who wished she wasn’t alone on her twenty-eighth birthday. Emma’s life is one of joy and wonder, unhampered by the concerns–both magical and mundane–that have followed her these six seasons.
But there are other aspects of Emma’s life that don’t quite scan, as if they were attempts by the writers to head fan criticism off at the head before anyone could angrily tweet their displeasure. One aspect in particular fails to make sense: Henry. I understand that the writers don’t wish to leave out Jared Gilmore and that there is a poetic nostalgia to Henry (kind of, sort of) being the one who makes Emma remember who she is once more but Henry’s existence in the Enchanted Forest of this AU makes little sense because nothing about him has changed. He’s still the son of Nealfire, who either never went to Neverland or somehow made it back to the Enchanted Forest one hundred plus years later where he grew up, met Princess Emma and had a child with her before dying in some heretofore unexplained manner. I get that the writers are aiming for consistency with Henry–after all Henry can’t literally exist if you change one of his parents–but in this warped AU, how am I to explain his conception, birth, and the death of one of his parents when the story of the universe has been so fundamentally altered?
Outside of Nealfire, a lot of things don’t add up once we accept and remember that this world is REAL (Adam and Eddy said so!). Like, are there now two versions of everyone except Emma (and Snowing, RIP)? Why is Robin that age? Why isn’t Granny dead? Where’s Zelena? Where’s the WishWorld!Evil Queen? Why is Rumple locked up if Bae made it back to the EF? How did Nealfire die? Where’s Belle–did she ever meet Rumple?

Great questions. I am assuming this is Emma’s wish world, correct? So maybe she gets to decide how everything works? If that is the case her wish world consists of Bae being dead as a hero and her raising Henry by herself? That does not seem like a great wish does it? Although it would explain the absence of anyone who she does not feel is important or does not want to deal with, Zelena, Evil Queen, Belle. I am still trying to wrap my brain around this, and can’t seem to.

We assume but then why Robin? Why is Neal dead? Even if her wish world is “I’m with Hook” (which, curiously, she isn’t) then why have her wish world be one where Henry never even knew Neal?
