Okay, maybe my understanding of the curse is flawed…. I thought that when the curse is activated, it just produces a bunch of smoke/mist that flows around everywhere and consumes eveything it touches. How Hook can outrun makes no sense.
HOWEVER if the curse works more like once it gets activated it turns into a big smoke ball that runs all across the land swallowing up everyone and then passes on, then id understand how Hook could outrun it (he could have headed in a direction the curse ball hadn’t consumed yet then when the curse got there, he could have turned and went to a place it had already ravaged). Idk >> blahg

That’s an interesting thought, about kind of circling around behind it after it had already been somewhere. I never got the impression that it worked that way, but who knows? I always pictured it as a big cloud that originated from wherever the curse was cast and then spread out in all directions however far it goes, eventually maybe kind of dissipating at the edges where it stops. Obviously I don’t know for sure though.
The other thing about the curse that kinda gets to me is that I thought it was a one-time-only thing; I didn’t know it could be reused so many times to go back and forth from “our” world…that just makes it not as big a deal, IMO. I just hope that it doesn’t pop up again in season four!

I was surprised it was multiple use as well, but at least it was more believable that Pan could do it, because he had the scroll. But after that we saw Regina destroy the scroll, (was there a magical sparky thing when she tore it? Can’t say for sure but I think maybe there was?), she tore up a core part of what was needed to cast the Curse. But then she was still able to reconstruct the Curse of her own accord, off the top of her head, without the magic scroll? When the show started the Curse was painted as this singular type of seriously terrible dark magic that took centuries to construct. The multiple use of it now makes it feel watered down and not as special.

Yes because that is what caused her hands to turn purple

If it recreated SB exactly, then it took over the whole EF. The JR is fast but that dove would need to have found him super fast and then he needed to high tail it out of the EF (beyond the reach of the curse at least) just as quickly. Not saying there is more to the story, it’s just a bit implausible, but not impossible with this show.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"June 13, 2014 at 11:05 am #273662KebParticipantWell, we’ve already seen that magic, once done, is often easier to repeat–Zelena was the first ever to create a time travel spell that worked, but Emma could repeat it with the Black Fairy’s Wand simply by having been through the portal. They’ve actually discussed an evolution of the sleeping curse over time.
So creating the curse once was probably a LOT harder than recreating it later. Or using it the way Pan did. (They still cheated by letting Charming live…not that I want him gone or that I didn’t like the one heart business, but it was still a cheat.)

My thoughts exactly.

If the curse doesn’t take over the entire EF then Regina’s use of it is stupid. Because all Snow and Charming would have to do to escape it is simply travel REALLY far away, something Hook managed at a moments notice. And again, if its a distance thing, then why would Cora need to have put up a bubble? Why not just get away from the curse on Hooks ship? The more I think about it, the less it makes sense…

Cora and Hook didn’t want to leave the EF; they just needed to not be taken by the Curse. Hook went beyond the reach of the curse because the walls between realms fell (or something). So wherever he got the bean, it wasn’t in the EF.

Wait, I thought Hook just sailed far away? O.o he we to a different land before he got the bean? Sorry if I’m asking so many questions
