I seem to have a lot of unanswered Wonderland questions which I hope a lot of them will answered during the last 5 episodes of the season. Some are just fun to theorize about. I’m creating a thread under each episode with these questions. Feel free to add your questions, answers, theories, etc. regarding this episode. Have fun! I can’t wait till March!

Well I dont’ think so because in 108 we see the lamp in Jafar’s “cave”
2. Is Amara immortal? Will we see her again?
I suspect that the way to defeat Jafar is to smash his staff but this will bring Amara back
3. Will we get to see the other 2 genies?
Probably in a CGI way, but not in a “get to know new characters way”
5. Where did RQ learn magic? Did Cora teach her?
Yup, that’s my headcanon
6. Has Cyrus come across Jafar before or did he only know Jafar by reputation?
Good question. I think they’ve come across one another before
7. Amara loved Jafar. Does Jafar really not love Amara or was it a lie, blinded by his request for revenge?
I think the only two people Jafar has ever loved were his mother and father. And when one–his father–denied him love in return, Jafar become so obsessed that he decided to never love ever again.
8. If Amara was turned into the snake staff, will Jafar turn her back in order to cast the spell to change the laws of magic?
I don’t think so. She’s better as his snake staff. But maybe once Alice and Co break the staff, she’ll fight against Jafar?
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"January 19, 2014 at 12:38 am #238282TheWatcherParticipantI got the impression Jafar is so powerful at magic because he isn’t using just his own magic, but also channeling hers through the staff she was turned into. He doesn’t have to turn her back because he can utilize her power with his own.
For some reason, I suspect the other genie will be that Rafi character we are supposed to see, Cyrus’s brother. Maybe they both became genies at the same time?
Also, I thought it was already established by A&E that Red Queen learned magic from Cora? When they were asked, they said something like “Well she had to learn it from someone.” Or something along those lines

I think you’re right

Yeah but someone does necessarily mean Cora. Though I would be really surprised if it wasn’t Cora.

I hope we’ll see her again. I like the theory that maybe she’s Cyrus’ mother. Maybe she gained magic for both herself and her son, but her son ended up trapped as a genie, which is why she learned so much about them and wanted to change the laws of magic, so she could free him and make up for her mistake that got him trapped in the first place.

Agreed.

And then maybe the compass stopped working when his mother was turned into a snake staff.

Amara as Cyrus’s mom, hmmm. Well, this is Once where everyone is related. Hehehe. I wonder when the compass quit pointing towards Cyrus’s mom. Cyrus has been a genie for 100 years. Could be at time Jafar turned her into the snake staff. Amara must have some kind of immortality because she didn’t age while Jafar was growing up.
That’s true that Jafar wouldn’t need to change Amara back, just channel her powers like he’s been doing. Still would like to see her again though.

Good point, RG. I wonder if Jafar has thought about breaking another law of magic, “Bringing someone back from the dead”. If he resurrect his mom, he would have someone to love who would love him unconditionally back.

April 2, 2014 at 7:18 pm #258533Hook’s GirlParticipantAnswer to question #1 – According to 1×10, No. The other 2 genie lamps contained Cyrus’s brothers.
Answer to question #2 – According to 1×12, we got to see Amara again. She somehow turned back to a human from the snake staff. If her sons were genies for at least 100 years, then yes she must be immortal or at least have a gift of a very long live.
Answer to question #3 – According to 1×10, yes. They are Cyrus’s 2 brothers
Answer to question #4 – According to 1×10, No. The lamps came from Agrabah area where Cyrus and his brothers were cursed to become genies.
Answer to question #5 – According to 1×11, Cora taught RQ magic, much in the fashion Rumple taught Regina and Regina training Emma – to use anger and to start with fire.
Answer to question #8 – According to 1×12, Jafar did need Amara’s power to cast the spell to change the laws of magic, but he didn’t change her back. Not sure how she changed back to a human yet.
