Maybe that’s just what it looks like when someone wakes up from that sleep curse dream? I’d figured that people would just fade in and out of the burning room though, not go flying through the air. You’re right, it does seem like a portal leaving type action. They’ve never shown us anyone coming up through a portal like that before, but I’d imagine that’d be how it’d happen if the portal is a swirling vortex type situation.

Well, the zombies kind of look like they are all those people in that village in FTL that Cora killed, back when they found Hook pretending to be the only survivor. At least the scenery sort of looks the same to me. And if she killed them by ripping their hearts out, it would be fitting that she could control them, hence zombies

Well, from the promo and pictures and different synopses it looks like, wherever David/James is in that hall of mirrors, it’s what Regina and Gold do to him that “sends” him there, so I’m betting it’s some place akin to the Red Room of Fire that Henry and Aurora are seeing. But Henry and Aurora are dreaming about the Red Room because they woke up from the curse, so maybe that’s why David is in this different place? Because he’s still under the sleeping curse itself and not a recent “victim”? And he’s definitely whacking something! Trying to get out of the Hall of Mirrors somehow?

Apparently, Cora is using the zombies to get the compass. That’s a little weird, because if I had enough power to make a bunch of dead people walk again, I would just go up to these four regular (although badass) women and take the compass already. I really hope I’m missing something or there’s a better explanation… 😕

They are not Zombies. Cora is using the Hearts she took from them to make them do as she commands.

Thats a zombie to me. I mean isnt a zombie an undead who does what his creater commands ?? Its voodoo magic. Even if the heart thing isnt a factor in original zombie stories I think it fits here. They are zombies..

Yeah, and especially given that they have a shot where the arm of a dead body that’s on the ground is suddenly thrust into the air and into the shot, makes me think that this is gonna be their little homage to zombie movies, (it’s reminiscent of that classic zombie scene where an arm suddenly comes up out of a grave), which I’m sure K&H consider to be good fun. They may not be your standard, decayed, brain eating zombies, but for all intents and purposes, they’re the Onciverse version of zombies.

If Emma kills a bunch of zombies I think I’ll def like her better. Zombie killers are usually awesome.
And I for one will be keeping my eyes opened for any homages to any zombie movies:D

And the term “zombie” can mean many things. At first it was just a way to describe voodoo slaves who had no will of their own and then it became used to describe the undead flesh eating corpses from popular culture. But the infected people in the 28 Days Later movie and it’s sequel are also put in the zombie category, and they are alive but crazy people.

I’m wondering if Cora has some Wonderland magic up her sleeve, as we know the rules of life and death are different in Wonderland.

I don’t think they are zombies, i think that Cora just took their hearts and now they are her puppets, and cora is just making them crazy puppets.I don’t think they are dead, well, yet. Hopefully Emma and snow do get the best of them and kill a couple
