What if it’s not the historical London of our world? Frankenstein’s world seemed to be a lot like our world (historical) besides being a world in black and white. So what if the London where the Darlings lived is a London in another storybook world? Could be the world of Mary Poppins (who obviously was capable of some magic) and Oliver Twist, other storybook characters.
The Blue Fairy didn’t say, that the bean would lead directly to the world without magic. Maybe nitpicking, but it leaves options. She said, she can send them to a world without magic (the only way to get Rumple as Bae’s father back). Then when she gave Bae the bean, she told him, to follow it “wherever it take you.” We know the hat worked only between magical worlds, we don’t know if the beans work differently, so far we only assumed.
Bit of fanwanking, and makes me feel not comfortable, but it would make some sense, if Wendy’s London is not our world’s London.

Super creepy eyes, I think that’s Peter shadow. If you look closely @:19, you can see the clouds through his legs! 😯
I agree. That’s Peter Pan’s shadow with creepy cat-eyes. In the Disney cartoon, Wendy Darling found Peter’s shadow, and he came looking for it. That’s when Peter and Wendy first met, and he first took her to NL. But, the clip of Wendy shows it’s not her first time in NL, because she tells Baelfire it’s completely different from his land (EF). So, she must be speaking from her own experience of having traveled to NL before.

Yes, also she isn’t afraid of it. Maybe the shadow is just creepy looking but actually friendly. I wonder where are Wendy’s brothers.

It could be similar to Mulan’s story!

Your post reminded me that they did mention something along these lines in an interview a little while back. Buggered if I remember where the interview was though. If anyone can track it down, I’ll give you my first born.

Maybe Neverland is a spirit dream world, which is why Peter Pan’s shadow looks so phantom-like in Wendy’s world. Lost boys end up in NL, sort of like lost souls do. There is no time which is a kind of eternity, almost like in heaven.

April 29, 2013 at 6:55 am #189568TheGoldenKeyParticipantRegarding Peter Pan’s shadow. It wasn’t just the Disney version that had the shadow, it’s been in the musical play for years and theatre productions since its concept back in 1904.
In The Little White Bird, Peter Pan was original a spirit caught between two worlds, life and death. He wasn’t able to let go of his life. Same with other lost boys, none ready to let go and go into the light so to speak.
So it’s interesting, that his shadow looks almost wraith like, a hollow being with soulless eyes.
As for a different world from ours, similar to Frankenstein’s, I could certainly see that. I think the Land Without Colour is a gothic world, open to all gothic novels from that period in time. Could very well explain the timeline of Bae having been missing for around 250 years though by our standards yet showing us only 113. Perhaps a Land Without Colour’s time frame of 6 months is more like a like our time.
Lots to ponder. Amazed how one tiny scene can open up so many cans of worms. 😀

I can’t get over how creepy it looks, and it makes me all kinds of suspicious. Honestly, we don’t even know if that shadowy creature will actually be Peter Pan. It’s safe to assume, given that whoever it is is taking Wendy’s hand and flying her out a window to go to NL, which is what Peter Pan traditionally does, but that creature just looks evil, and gives me chills, which does not jive with how you’re meant to feel about Peter Pan.
Is it next week yet? How about now? NOW?!
