In the first half of the arc, we were told that Violet’s mom simply died. Now we learn that Violet’s mother was killed by magic (missing parent alert!) and that her father is really from our world and was transported to Camelot.
Anyone else highly suspicious of this story? Like we might learn more about this next year? Perhaps Violet’s mother is more important than we know?

All magic comes with a price!

Yeah, that’s sort of in line with what @thedarkonedearie thinks, except that he believes them to be full blown sisters and have Mal as a mother. I thought it was insane but….well, crazier things happen on this show every Sunday at 8pm EST.

Second, They wont go back to Camelot to tell Her father story or they wont go back to land without magic story. They insert that line, (that contradicts the S5A where her father didnt liked Henry at all bc he was from other world and a writer and his daughter needed to end with some Knight and hero), to explan why Violet may be seen next season and at the same time to say that her father didnt abandoned her in SB by going with camelot people. Is simple, doesnt have any other meaning besides that. This information will be forgotten or retcon( if even has any meaning) next season.
Third, you actually think with so many stories now, they will actually go back to Malificent and Lily so soon? Yeah bc at this point their story is over, unless they decide to retcon and say her father is someone important, which now with a whole group of new characters available i dont think so, because lets be real they gave up on Aurora, Mulan bring back philip story, that had way more sense to explain, yet they said already they wont show that.

Sure that’s very possible but with this show you never know. For them to suddenly give more details about the death of character for whom we don’t even have a name and for it not to be an attempt to bond Violet and Henry (already bonded through death of a parent) just strikes me as odd. Like why that extra information? Violet is with Henry, she doesn’t need more reason to go with him to NYC.

Yeah agreed. You know how it struck me as well. It seemed like unnecessary information that they only put in there to foreshadow something in the near future. And with the untold stories plot coming into the fold for next season, that could play right into the Maleficent and Lily story line. And why not tie that story line in with a character who is snuggling up to the SQ’s son? It may be nothing, but similarly to wanting to see the dragon again (which we did when the writers got back around to it in the story they were telling), I want to know who Lily’s father was, and it felt at the time in 4b that they were hinting that it could be someone worth meeting some day. And they didn’t kill Lily or Maleficent. They just sort of left them there. It felt like something they could go back to, and honestly, other than the Phillip and Mulan story line they never told us and never will, they sort of have gone back and filled in some missing pieces (especially this last half arc), and given us some answers to questions I never thought we would get. So I don’t see any reason why not to believe they would come back to the Lily arc either. And since it seems they are keeping Violet around, they have to make her a little interesting right? And her father actually being from our world, and her mother actually dying from magic, seems like the stepping stones for something bigger in the next season.
