I had the exact same thought. I think Emma owes Gold a favor and we know from what the writters have said that Belle is coming back. I think that Regina is going to tell Mr. Gold to get rid of Emma or she will get rid of Belle. I think the favor he asks of her is to leave. And hopefully Jefferson will pop out of his hat and keep her from leaving.

Prepare yourselves for a lot of OMG-worthy moments in the finale, according to Snow White/Mary Margaret herself, Ginnifer Goodwin! “I will tell you that you will be throwing things at the television,” she teases. “You will be shocked at where we’re taking it!”
As for what to expect from the finale, Jennifer Morrison says, “Brace yourself! There is not much that doesn’t happen in that finale. It’s pretty crazy.” ">http://uk.eonline.com/news/watch_with_kristin/spoiler_chat_daily_klaus_elijah_reunion/310289#ixzz1shN3PINa

April 18, 2012 at 4:27 pm #142773miaParticipantYou know, that only makes me think the worst and I don’t even know what would be the worst. 😮
April 18, 2012 at 4:33 pm #142774PheeParticipantEeeeeeeek, I can’t wait to see it!!!
April 18, 2012 at 7:26 pm #142788hjbauParticipantSo what things would be completely shocking?
Regina dies.
Emma kills Regina and becomes evil.
Emma leaves town.
Everyone’s memories are reset after they remember.
Rumpel goes crazy when he learns about Belle.April 18, 2012 at 8:42 pm #142801miaParticipant@hjbau wrote:

No need for discussion about the promo, there are other topics for that and I know some think it’s not a dream. 🙂April 18, 2012 at 8:56 pm #142806hjbauParticipantI would be shocked too. I can’t imagine them killing one of the main characters at this point, but who knows maybe they will.

The finale episodes are leading up to a crazy showdown in the freshman series’ finale. “We have been holding our breath waiting for a Regina-Emma showdown—I would say just expect everything. Nothing’s held back,” Espenson promises. “The doors fly off, your socks and then your shoes, everything’s going to fly off of you.”
Uh, does that sounds like a Dorthothy-esque tornado or just crazy drama? “It is one hell of a finale. We watched it in the room yesterday and, oh my god, one of the best hours of TV I’ve ever seen.”
That’s good enough endorsement for us."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy

I like the idea of Jefferson popping out of the hat and absconding Emma as a favor to the Queen for some deal. What would really blow me away though is if August did something we didn’t expect as a favor to Regina. I am not convinced August is completely on the “good” side of things — not completely, but mostly. I have to leave a little room for those conniving writers to trick me 😀
I know every time I became convinced of something on LOST, they changed the game, somehow.
I was thinking Jefferson would be in episode 20, and with Henry and Paige, tries to break the curse, but something else happens, the apple tree appears in Storybrooke. Then episode 21, Emma has broken, she's terrified of Storybrooke and what it can do. She tries to run away, but Henry stops her. But what really stops her is Mary Margeret. Regina has poisoned her with one of the apples. Episode 22 is court, and this is what August wanted to do. Try Regina for all her crimes, or at least for poisoning Mary Margeret. But they're losing, because Mary Margeret suddenly gets better, and that's when Belle is revealed. Everyone finds out that Regina locked her up, and while they have no proof, they all know it's her. They hate her, and King George challenges Regina to the title of mayor. And Emma, but David takes her place. In FTL, the huntsman is sent to help Snow, because the Evil Queen hates King George as much as everyone else for reasons unknown. Then, all the magic in the land disappears and King George takes control of the mysterious chaos. In SB, everyone leaves, except Belle. And she suddenly dies. End season. You know what I’ve just realised? Once Upon a Time is basically a soap opera with fairytale characters, really. (Or maybe I’m wrong, I’ve never watched a soap opera, but if I’m right, Once Upon a Time is the best soap opera I’ve ever seen, not that that means much, considering I’ve never watched a soap opera… Oh well).
