I would almost bet money that Rumple has his own independent fiefdom, which isn’t necessarily a kingdom, but he still has jurisdiction over a group of people. Robin Hood might be wanted for stealing money from another kingdom, like King George’s, as well as for stealing magic from Rumple’s lands.
Bless that little Imp, so would I. 😆
And even if he didn’t have a fiefdom or something similar, who on earth is going to try and take him on?? I’m betting they are willing to just let him live in his rather large estate and pray he doesn’t get bored and destroy them all.
Which brings me back to : why is Robin stealing magic? We know this is also supposed to be the Rumbelle episode so I think the stories might parallel. If Robin is trying to free Marian from the Sheriff of Nottingham perhaps their love story sparks something between Rumple and Belle.@HappyEndings wrote:
Wasn’t Robin Hood in the Sherwood Forest vs Snow in Enchanted Forest if so I wonder how close they are and do you think Robin showed Snow how to shoot with the Bow and Arrow? ❓
Rumple called it the Infinite Forest in A Land Without Magic, so maybe Sherwood and the Infinite Forest are one and the same. It’s like the land itself is called The EF but the forest is the Infinite Forest

This is just a guess, but perhaps Robin Hood isn’t stealing magic in its purest form (like in the form of energy or pixie dust); rather, I think Robin Hood could try and steal the gold which Rumple spun from straw. We’ve seen Mr. Gold use that very gold in his potions in his basement in SB when he was trying to break the boundary spell.

I think it’s possible that Bandit Snow spent some time hiding out with Robin Hood and his merry men while she was on the run from the queen. I believe the bow and arrow that Rumple gave to Snow White in “Heart of Darkness” is the same bow and arrow that Rumple was using in the promo for “Lacey” (I’m guessing Rumple got it from Robin Hood). However, I think it’s more likely that Snow White learned her archery skills as a royal princess, especially since she was very much a daddy’s girl and the sole heir to her father’s throne. Snow probably was both son and daughter to her father, especially after her mother’s death, and Leopold likely taught her hunting and battle skills using a bow and arrow.

I had assumed (perhaps wrongly) that the Infinite Forest was a separate place from the EF, because Regina sent her magic through her mirror to thwart Prince Charming from finding Snow White, and she banished Hansel and Gretel there. Also, Rumplestiltskin said in 1×22 that no one could escape the Infinite Forest without magic, and then he sent Prince Charming to Maleficent’s castle, located in the Infinite Forest. This makes me think that Maleficent used her magic to create the Infinite Forest as a sort of protection barrier outside of her castle.

That’s a pretty good guess given the myth of Robin Hood.

Hmm. I hadn’t thought of it that way. So everyone lives in the EF but then a neighboring forest is the Infinite Forest. So do they merge at any point? Because if Maleficant lives in the IF and not the EF then Regina had to specifically pull her over (which I guess is true since Rumple said “I knew you couldn’t resist bringing her over” in A Land Without Magic) and the IF was left unaffected by the Curse?

Potentially. I haven’t really sussed out all of the details of this working hypothesis, but perhaps the IF is separate, yet still part of FTL, similar to how Aurora’s kingdom looked to be distinct from the rest of the EF. The architecture of her palace looked to be almost Middle Eastern with its rounded domes rather than like a European castle that King George lived in. I think there could be many lands within FTL (like Mulan’s homeland) and the EF is just one of them.

April 9, 2013 at 6:58 pm #185337RumplesGirlKeymasterWhat we need…is a map. We need a map of this land and its various kingdoms within.
The architecture of Aurora’s kingdom bothered me for the longest time. I was convinced it was a different land altogether, like NL or WL. But yeah, I think FTL is huge and EF is just one corner and then there is also Agrabah (the Genie), Mulan’s world, and others.
Dear Eddy and Adam: map please!
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 9, 2013 at 7:10 pm #185338SlurpeezParticipantYes, please give us a map. I’ve been re-reading The Lord of the Rings trilogy again, and one of the things I appreciate so much is that in the front of the books are maps of the places you read about in the story.
Here is a map from “Skin Deep” that was posted in the Once podcast notes: https://oncepodcast.com/once-upon-a-time-podcast-056-lady-of-the-lake/
It doesn’t help much with understanding the kingdoms, but it would be nice to have a copy of this map. OUAT could sell it as a poster."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy

I don’t think Snow learnt any of her skills until after Regina had banished her. She was too much of a daddy’s girl. Being on the run hardened her up. Snow wouldn’t have been taught useful skills like hunting because of her position in life. She was a woman and a princess, she was more likely to be taught embroidery than archery. Archery and hunting would have been considered men’s pursuits. Women may have been allowed to accompany them but they weren’t allowed to take part. It is more likely that Red and Granny taught Snow how to hunt when she stayed with them.

Keeper of FelixApril 9, 2013 at 7:39 pm #185342HappyEndingsSpectatorSee I thought that there were different forest too doesn’t it look like there are only 3 Forest ❓
1 = Infinite Forest (Prince Charming was sent too)
2 = Enchanted Forest (Where Snow is from)
3 = Sherwood Forest (Where Robin Hood)Each for different kingdoms but I could be wrong.
April 9, 2013 at 7:46 pm #185345KebParticipantWe saw Red teaching Snow how to track. So yeah, she learned those skills on the run.
