I love Once Upon a Time because it gives us the prequel and the sequel to stories we’re familiar with and more in depth character analysis of why villains become villains. It makes the characters more relatable.

When I first saw a commercial for the show I got SO excited about the concept. And of course, OUAT brought me here at the beginning of Season 3. (And it also brought me to the Welcome to Level Seven podcast!)
Emma is not only my favorite character on the show, but might possibly be my favorite character in general ever. I just love Emma. That is all.
Captain Swan turns me into a squee-ing puddle of happy feels and it’s wonderful. 🙂

Women like Snow and Emma can fight very well enough on their own. Even when you have Snow and Charming fighting together at the same time, they are fighting as an equal team. I love Bandit Snow, and I love bails-bonds butt-kicking Emma. When we’re first introduced to Emma, we see her getting the upper hand on a sleazy guy. Not to mention you have females in the roles of power. Regina has been both the Evil Queen and the mayor of Storybrooke, Emma has been the sheriff of Storybrooke, and Snow has been both a Queen and is now the new mayor of Storybrooke.

Yes, yes, yes. It’s like it’s own stand alone forty-some minute movie. I love every minute of that episode.
Okay, I love OUAT because it created a legion of fans for Bobby Carlyle. Definitely, not an unknown before Once, staring in Oscar and Emmy winning films and a well respected actor, but his genius was on display for another faction of fans who might not have seen his other brilliant films or shows.

I’m talking about the talented Mark Isham and his beautiful music that continues to wow me from season to season and Eduardo Castro’s fairytale wardrobe and of course the writers. All of the writers bring a little something extra to each episode.

Once has some a great colorful cast of First and Secondary characters that make for interesting Storytelling. These are the type of Characters that you want to see interact with one another and the world around. Â These are the type of characters were you want to see how they would react to meeting certain people or by dealing with many situations, whether it is adventurous or high stakes or mundane. So yeah, in conclusion I love Once for it’s colorful cast of interesting characters and seeing what situations they get themselves into.

If there’s one thing I have yet to hear any complaints about, it’s Mark Isham’s score. It’s beautiful and deserves any praise it can get. I love how he has specific leitmotifs for each character, and they are easily identifiable. Many iconic Once Upon A Time moments wouldn’t be the same without Isham’s music cues.
October 22, 2014 at 7:37 pm #286941ellemo78ParticipantI love OUAT because of Robert Carlyle. He was the reason I started watching and he didn’t disappoint (not that I expected him to). But whether he’s in full on gold-skin pantomime imp or dark menacing Mr Gold he’s is just so fantastic.
I’d like to also add my love for Mark’s scoring and Eduardo’s costuming. The show is so lucky to have such talented people behind the scenes. In particular I loved the music used behind Rumple and Belle’s wedding. So haunting and beautiful. *hopes for a season three soundtrack*
I love how ridiculous OUAT can be. Walking broomsticks! Warlording Bo-Peep! Magic portal beans! It’s all silly fun 😀 And what makes it even better is that the cast is so good they can make the ridiculousness seem plausible. What other shows can have The Evil Queen introducing Robin Hood to Tinkerbell like it’s normal natural thing that happens every day? Brilliant!
If one is to engage with the primordial forces of darkness, one must expect a little social awkwardness
