I just wanted to throw out a little rant about how I can’t believe NOBODY has yet to try and cash in on LOST again. In ANY form. The series mythology (Island, Dharma Initiative, Hanso Foundation, 40+ side characters..etc) is just too plentiful and detailed to see it not explored some more. Comics, novels, tv, movie, webisodes, you name it. I know the main series was about the characters and their lives and that’s fine. But I do not feel it would hurt the integrity of the original series at all to have a side series about the founding of Dharma…or the off -island Others or anything that made the mythology AMAZING and INTRIGUING as heck.

You make a good point. I would be very interested to see the beginnings of the Dharma initiative or a short movie trying to back the show with some actual science (think BBC with national geographic). I am, however, left wondering, is there really an audience left for such a thing? “Relieved” was a word that got thrown around a lot when the show ended and now 2 years later, are we really ready to give another go at this goddamn island and all of it’s secret?

I can only speak for myself here, but I don’t think I would be able to tolerate anyone fiddling with the fabric an mythology of LOST but Cuse, Lindelof and Co. If they are not directly involved, I don’t wanna hear about it. For six seasons they have work on LOST, when the show came to a conclusion, they got to do different things and I wonder when they will be ready to give another go at it. I hope it happens one day, that they’ll have an uncontrollable urge to write more LOST-type-things. But not now, let’s give it time. I imagine how much cooler it would be to wait ten years and then out of the blue hearing about that show again.

I can wait… I don’t want anyone to just “cash-in”. I want something to happen because the creative team behind LOST felt it was the right thing to do and not just have some execs decide that it’s time to dust up that old show for some quick money.

I don’t really miss Lost at all. Just the way it made me feel, and the theories it sparked. It kicked your imagination into gear and probably had the most discussion of any show during it’s run.
After watching that show since the beginning, I have to say I was let down by the last season and the ending.
I know the creators have said they are done with Lost, but I bet ABC still wants to cash in money somehow.
I know they released the Encyclopedia and dolls but I don’t think they’ve done anything further with Lost……yet.

NEVER watched Lost… did not like it during the first season and life took over so never got back to watching it…. Hubby has the first couple of dvds … as a gift but never wanted to watch them… never sitting still long enough to watch.

I am all for PBS shows investigating culture and history… those I would watch.
