I didn’t realize this until I saw it on tumblr, but:
About OUAT and Neverland…
I don’t know if everyone knows about it but PETER PAN has a tradition on theater since the first time on stage. It says that the actor who plays Captain Hook also plays Wendy’s father.
I wish we could get some scenes of Colin being a totally different character, as Wendy’s father.
Anyone agree?
This was also true in 2003 movie. The same actor played both roles. Do you think we could see the same thing happen on Once?

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 30, 2013 at 9:25 pm #190136SlurpeezParticipantWould Captain Hook actually be Wendy’s dad, or would Colin, the actor, simply also portray Mr. Darling? In the 2003 version, the same actor, Jason Isaacs, played both Captain Hook and Mr. Darling, but that didn’t mean Captain Hook was Wendy’s father. It was just one actor playing two different roles that were distinct and not one in the same.

Obviously Wendy’s dad is a severe man who put away his childhood dreams when he grew up and Hook represents the same with his constant desire to kill Peter Pan (who literally represents childhood). However, while I think this would be an interesting idea, wouldn’t it confuse the heck out of the casual viewer? I wouldn’t mind because I could see what they were doing but I am not a casual viewer.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 30, 2013 at 10:01 pm #190148tiara_roseParticipantNo I don’t like the idea, but only because in this series for me Hook is more like a grown up Peter for me. The only person who could play for me the father of this sweet little girl would be Henry senior. I can imagine that young Regina woud have also helped Bea in his situation and maybe when Regina and Daniel meet, it was also Regina who help the stable boy.

April 30, 2013 at 10:19 pm #190155KebParticipantIt doesn’t make much sense for Hook, in the midst of his hunt for revenge for his one true love, to settle down and start a family, and then go back on the rampage, does it? I dunno, I just don’t see it meshing with the character as established in the Onceverse.

No, only the actor is the same for both roles, they’re not really the same guy. It’s one of those theater gimmicks that became tradition in adaptations; Jason Isaacs is hardly the first one to do that, in fact Hans Conried did the same in Disney’s Peter Pan.
But here’s the catch: those adaptations usually feature Hook with a wig and other facial additions, which makes him look different enough from Mr. Darling. Save for a guyliner, Colin doesn’t play Hook with that much makeup, so I doubt they can pull him to play Wendy’s father and the audience not confuse him with his more known role in the series.
