I have been watching PBS SHERLOCK season 4 … PBS has been playing the episode repeatedly and I have found little easter eggs and things/ hints I just plain misses each time I watched the episode. Just wondering what everyone else found to watch or do since the show is not on ….
Another question, what other shows are you watching that have returned from hiatus. I missed the first episode of BONES and GRIMM because I did not realize they were returning so soon after the winter break… got caught up by going to a GF home and watching them with her on her DEMAND. Thank goodness for friends.

I didn’t find the first episode all that interesting. There have just not been enough episode to really develop the characters and there is too much time in between for me to even remember what happened in past episodes.
Vikings is good, if extremely violent at times. It’s a really different kind of show, which is why i like it. Superstore makes me laugh. It is probably the best funny show on right now. I have been liking This Is Us, though i keep wondering where it is going to go premise wise. Grey’s Anatomy is still my favorite show and is easily the best written show on television right now, though it is a soap opera, it is really well written. Thinks happen to characters and they actually react to them. Imagine that.
I am looking forward to the return of Black Sails. The first season or so where not that great, but the last season was really interesting. I am also looking forward to the return of Scandal, as well, which has had a bit of a slump writing wise, but it is still better then a lot of stuff out there.

I get the dvds for VIKINGS … never heard of BLACK SAILS but I will look into it …. as for GREY ANATOMY … I worked as a nurse for many years and can not stand to watch it on TV …. believe me it is pure fantasy.

January 8, 2017 at 2:21 pm #332483TheWatcherParticipantI’m binge watching The Magicians currently and I finished watching 3% (I’m watching both on Netflix, but they both might be on demand.) Emerald City just started so I plan on watching that too. Oh, and Black Mirror is awesome!
I also haven’t finished Merlin yet, but I’m gonna get there.
Things I’m planning to start watching: Crazyhead, A Series Of Unfortunate Events, Cleverman and I need to start Sense8 from the beginning.

I agree that the first episode of season 4 was a letdown, but I’m excited for the new bad guy and development in Sherlock and John’s relationship. I was really disappointed in John as a character last episode, and hope he can redeem himself in these next two eps.
January 8, 2017 at 4:18 pm #332485kranenParticipantI’m lucky. OUAT is my only show on hiatus so I’ve still got plenty of other things to watch. Frequency and Teen Wolf both returned last week. Timeless and Agents of SHIELD are both back this week. The 100 is back February 1st too.
However whilst literally everything was off over that 3 week Christmas / New Year period, I started rewatching the Marvel Netflix shows. I also started watching Buffy for the first time. And finally, I got sent screeners of the first 4 episodes of Riverdale which I also watched. Great show btw. I highly recommend it when it starts.
January 9, 2017 at 4:33 am #332489sciencevsmagicParticipant3% – Only 5 episodes into it so far. It feels like a cross between Hunger Games and Quantico. So far, I’d say it’s good, though not great. The story is fine, but the dystopian world doesn’t seem highly original. However, it has potential. They could go from good to great with some skilful world building from here on.
Merlin – I watch this for light entertainment when my brain is too tired to absorb anything more complex. It’s fine when watched just for fun. If I were to get more analytical, I’d say I have a few problems with this show in that its themes are too parochial for my taste. But I don’t bother going too deep.
January 10, 2017 at 8:21 pm #332529nonnieParticipantTHANKS FOR ALL THE IDEAS for NEW SHOWS TO WATCH. I am babysitting grand nieces and nephews and while they are in school I have access to a super entertainment system. .

So today I learned new word 😀

3% is awesome!! Finally someone else who watches! And I agree, definitely a hunger games vibe going on. As for the worldbuilding I agree and I hope the next season (which I think is confirmed) goes more in detail about the off shore and clear corruption and shadiness going on here. I’m very interested in how this world got to be the way it is and why. But gosh I love this show.
