Not sure if anyone suggested this yet – but what if Rumple thought he was trapping the ICE QUEEN (i.e., who I think Elizabeth Mitchell’s character is) in the urn – but really he got Elsa.  He just made a mistake.  I think the ICE QUEEN is somehow responsible for the blizzard during the birth of Snow (it can’t be Elsa because she is the same age or even younger than Snow White) and she is also somehow responsible for Elsa getting her powers in the first place.  Elsa is definitely a misdirect, and the true villain is the Ice Queen.

Not sure if the Ice Queen is also the Black Fairy… that doesn’t make much sense to me.  They never explained why when Rumple killed of Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, he said something to the effect of “No one will miss her.”  I always wondered if she was the Black Fairy or if she had some bigger back story.

I also agree with Watcher that because Marian was destined to die… she will probably die this season.  I just hope they give the “Robin Hood” story the respect it deserves.  Perhaps we will get some flashbacks to Robin Hood’s life with Marian.

I like this theory. Rumple’s got enough on his plate with trying to cover up his lie to Belle and then the inevitable her finding out about it plus we already had the villain seeking revenge on Rumple in season 2 with Hook. And Rumple had a rough time during season 3, he needs a break where he isn’t being targeted by the villain.

If Marian dies then OutlawQueen shouldn’t happen. If Marian dies because she was “destined to die” the only reason she died in the first place was because of Regina. Marian dying just so Regina can carry on with Marian’s husband is wrong.

I’m betting Elsa was in the urn by choice. Elsa was her own best jailer in Frozen, and she’d make a deal with Rumpel to lock herself away if her powers were out of control again, or if it was the only way to keep Mitchell’s character from stealing her powers.

Marian needs to be a spy like Mata Hari. An agent of Nottingham, send to infiltrate not just Robin’s band but also enemy kingdoms such as Regina’s. Or maybe she even worked for Regina, and was in the dungeon to get confessions out of prisoners on whom torture wouldn’t work.

I have a crack theory regarding Elizabeth’s character: She’s an older Anna. Kristoff bolted from the wedding, leaving Anna heartbroken and that sliver of ice that Elsa accidentally struck into Anna’s heart began to grow again, turning Anna from a warm person to an icy one.

Watcher and I (mostly watcher) expanded on your theory a little.

A&E said Elizabeth Mitchell would be playing either Anna and Elsa’s mother OR the original Snow queen. POM suggested the idea that Elizabeth Mitchell is Anna, all grown up, with blonde hair because her heart froze again.

Elizabeth Mitchell’s character could be both Anna AND the original Snow queen.

After Elsa is trapped by Rumple, Anna becomes queen of Arendelle. In her sister’s absence, her heart freezes again (her hair becomes blonde), and she becomes the Snow Queen from the original fairy tale.

She grows up as Queen of Arendelle until Regina’s curse bring everyone to Storybrooke. That’s where she will be when Elsa arrives.

All of this 😛 if its confusing, what we mean by the original snow queen thing is that in the actual fairytale that we know in our world, the snow queen in the story is Snow Queen Anna, not Elsa, and that the events in that story happened after Elsa was taken. Crack theories are crack, dearies xD Also, in the original story there was something about an ewvil magic mirror which is kind of interesting seeing that now Sidney, the magic mirror is returning this season so yah. This a theory in the making!!!!

Me too, if you have Elsa and the Snow Queen be two separate characters then you can do both Frozen but also the original tale. It’s the best of both worlds!
