Now that Hook is tethered to the sword, what happened to Merlin? Is he alive? Dead? Tree’d?

Merlin’s voice mail simply said “the Dark One knows I’m here”, but now we know that they could have misled us into thinking it was Emma, and it was actually Hook going after him.

Yes I suspect Hook’s to blame. But what actually happened to Merlin? Is he dead? Did Hook kill him–and if so, was it because someone ordered Hook to kill Merlin? Like, someone got hold of the sword? We still don’t know how it ended up back in that stone.

Horowitz: We’ll see some more of Merlin, and we love Elliot.
Kitsis: He’s fantastic. I can tell you that he plays a really big part in the curse and what’s happening with Emma, and we’re going to see him being really central to the conclusion of the Dark Swan arc.

Make of this what you will….I still say Merlin unfortunately bites the dust.

Fergus also told Merida not to waste the rest of it, implying that she still has some left.

*Cue everyone asking about Neal & Graham again*.

Though nice job on the part of the writers using his phrasing to make us think that it was Emma before this big reveal. I’m not sure Merlin is dead. He may have been cursed again. I have a feeling their reason for visiting the underworld later may be to find Nimue as Merlin had instructed. Also, along the same lines as the idea that Hook was the dark one after Merlin, I have a feeling that even though after saving Hook Emma turned full on dark one, she still has a lot of the good in her. Merlin I think had referred to maybe someday someone being strong enough to be able to handle the darkness while still being good. Kind of wonder if that was foreshadowing this.
November 16, 2015 at 8:53 pm #312711musicalfeetParticipantFor the longest time, I suspected that he may be dead. But I thought Merlin said the only thing that can kill him is the completed Excalibur?
Also, I thought the DO and Merlin are supposed to be evenly matched in power, so I don’t think one can kill the other. The reason Merlin said Emma could potentially kill him is because (in my head) Emma has both the DO powers and Savior Light Magic Powers–making her more powerful than any standard DO. I also wager she should be more powerful than Hook, who is just a DO.

I have a feeling Arthur and Zelena’s roles aren’t done in the Camelot flashbacks.
