Spoilers for 2×09:
I sense some rocky waters ahead for Neal and Emma. She already thinks that Rumple had her whole life mapped out for her…the fact that she just happened to meet and have a kid with his son might be a little disturbing for her peace of mind. She might think that what they had wasn't genuine and just part of the curse or some crazy magical trick. Any thoughts? In any case, I hope she does look for him. I would love to see them returning to Storybrooke together.
December 3, 2012 at 4:38 am #163395lilredParticipantIs it sick that part of me would enjoy that angle?
Not only would it have them navigating being parents to Henry, but I could see both of them going through periods of doubt – worrying that everything was a lie/orchestrated by magic.I can really almost imagine how euphoric it would be for Emma to learn that it wasn’t another scheme. After everything, Neal and Henry were authentic and totally hers.
It’s going to be rocky waters anyway for these two : why not add to the angst train by having them second guess what appears to have been the happiest times of both lives – being together in that yellow bug.

The one argument I have found AGAINST the SwanFire idea that I agree with, looks like it’s about to happen. If they try to do both at the same time (Neal is Bae and Neal as Henry’s father) one story is almost inevitably going to be burred by the other. That’s kind of why I wanted Neal to show up before Emma goes looking for Bae.
But I do have complete faith in the writers and am reserving any true hissy fits until AFTER I have seen how it all plays out.
My theory about the part Gold had in their meeting is this:
I think he used a bit of Bae’s DNA (a hair left on a cloak, perhaps) to ‘anchor’ the curse to when Bae would be alive. With both of their essences used in the curse–that’s what drew them together. What made Emma chose that bug out of any other car. What happened afterword couldn’t have been planed.
@lil’red
As deliciously angsty as that would be, in the end i want it to be real. It’s fine if they doubt it, but it has to be the truth. So much of Emma’s life has been dominated by the curse she deserved one thing that was truly and genuinely hers.
Honestly, I would like to see Gold be completely oblivious to all this. He’s played the board so well up until now, I really want to see one big thing escape his foresight entirely because I don’t think he would mess with Bae’s life this way…not on purpose anyways.
And if Neal is Bae and he’s Emma’s true love (which he is), then I think it will be up to Henry to restore FTL. He’s already shown an interest in magic and since the show has hinted at OZ we can assume it’s possible to have a good witch (Glinda). “Queen of Hearts” again reiterated the power of a product of true love. If Henry learns magic and is the product of the true love between the beginning of the curse and the end…well, let’s just say he’s bound to be powerful in his own right.
The Curse is a powerful and complicated bit of magic, and as we’ve seen in Harry Potter, the more complicated and powerful a bit of magic is, the harder it is for the caster to see and understand the importance of the little things (Tom couldn’t have guessed just how much he screwed up by underestimating the power of love, right?)

Gifs by ditchingthelogicalOh, and good news during this horribly long wait! (Has it really not been a week already? I don’t think I’ll make it through this month.. 😯 )
MRJ has his next script!
December 8, 2012 at 8:40 pm #164091lilredParticipantI really don’t understand some people! 👿
This fandom is really going down hill recently and being rude to great actors!

I agree. If you dislike a character that is fine. Everyone has a right to an opinion. 🙂 But it really isn’t fair for the actors to get hate like that. It might make it hard for them to film knowing that others do not want them on the show.
December 9, 2012 at 12:03 am #164107midnight drearyParticipantUgh, I just can’t with this fandom sometimes. 🙄 I hate when actors catch heat from fans. And it’s been happening a lot frequently lately.
Anyhoo, I’m glad MRJ is coming back. I love Neal. 😀
December 9, 2012 at 12:07 am #164108tiara_roseParticipantI love Neal too. I happy MRJ can play him again. I am only sad, that I don’t can help with learning his text. i would gladly assist the whole crew.
Heros don't get their Happy Ending!
December 9, 2012 at 12:11 am #164109snowfallsParticipantSorry to hear about the rude tweet. MJR is such a sweetheart and he does not deserve sarcarstic comments from haters. I’m glad he’s coming back on the show and I can’t wait to see his first meeting with Henry (and Mr. Gold if the theories are correct). 🙂
