I have this theory that there’s some sort of small network network outside of SB of people who weren’t cursed helping out. I mean it would be August, Bae (Neal), and maybe some others (Dorthy and/or Alice, perhaps?) working with those inside SB who knew like Jefferson and the Blue Fairy. I mean, am I the only one who remembers the stills from hat trick with August and Jefferson–the same ones the producers are trying to pretend never existed?
I’m not quite sure what this network would be doing now that the curse is broken, but that’s kind of where my mind is headed with this.
This is a pretty cool theory. I like the idea of other people knowing about the curse. But I do agree that the writers would have to take extra care to make sure that these “helpers” don’t come off as non-helpful or too detahced.

I think it could work, especially if they haven’t been aware of the curse or Emma being the Savior for the full 28 years. Maybe gathering these people up and informing them about the curse was what Neal’s been up to. He is Henry’s father, wouldn’t put it past him to be the head of a top secret operation. 😀
Depending on what August actually told him, Neal could be aware of the ‘final battle beginning’ once Emma broke the curse. So the group could be rooted in preparing and fighting this battle for happy endings and really believe the only person to figure out the curse could have been Emma alone…

That’s one of the reasons i’m not freaking out about the fact that it looks like they’re going to try and do both the Neal is Bae and the Neal is Henry’s dad plots almost at the same time (it was the one argument against Swanfire that i’ve ever agreed with–that if they tried to do both at the same time one would push the other to the side).
But I mean, if someone would have told us that Rumple would be both the Beast and the Crocodile before those epps came out I’m sure some of us would have been a bit apprehensive about how that was going to play out…but look at the genus that is the final product. If any team of writers can do it without making things seem rather cheesy, it’s them.
And didn’t they say something about how the origin of Henry’s book was a story in and of its self? Maybe that’s what the network was doing (even if it’s all they could do).
Maybe Bae did the illustrations for the book. Millah was good at art and those kind of things can be hereditary… August could have written it from the story the others told him. It would explain why some didn’t make it into the book like Rumple’s back story and Pinocio’s and when Rumple/Jeffeson/Victor teamed up. Some stories the Network wouldn’t know or were just too personal for them to be comfortable including. I mean Regina did read all but the last few pages when she took the book from Henry. If she had known these things she would have acted diffidently.

This season was spent largely on putting Regina on a pedestal. 🙂 I get that we are to feel sorry for her, but I found it a bit annoying that we are supposed to overlook everything that she has done because she had a bad childhood.
Rumpelstiltskin is a good character (not really one that I a huge about of pity for pity, though) so it will be great to have him back in the story. And if Neal is his son, it will be interesting to see how the confrontation will go. Baelfire will not be happy about what he had done–creating the curse, helping to curse everyone to be miserable, his role in seperating Emma and him, and more.
As much as I may feel a bit for Rumpelstiltskin, I think Baelfire is the one more deserving if sympathy. He is the one that had to watch his father murder, his mother left him for her lover, his father chose magic over him, and he was sent to a land without magic all alone.

😮 😮 😮 People! Christmas eve has come sooner than expected!!
Why having a reunion that soon? Why Emma's absence during the latest scenes that were filmed in SB?! Count this and “we have to find someone – my son” promo hints together and…ding ding ding! Neal-freakin'-fire!
December 12, 2012 at 11:31 pm #164805schmackyParticipantI so don’t want it to happen but it really looks like it. *sigh*
December 12, 2012 at 11:43 pm #164807midnight drearyParticipantI’m actually really excited to see how this plays out. 😀

December 12, 2012 at 11:47 pm #164813cinnamonhummingbirdParticipantIf the writers do it the right way one can get used to it and objection against the idea might diminish in time…or not.
At first I wasn’t excessively fond of the conception that Rumplestiltskin is going to portray the Beast in this story. And now?
Everything is a question on how the writers handle their specific thoughts in making them tasty to the viewers.
On the other hand there is still a chance…nothing is confirmed, so no need to worry yet.
