There’s so much stuff going on in this episode I’m slightly nervous that it’s all going to go too fast.
This show really loves to plow through plot and breakthroughs without pausing for character moments.
Same here! And there’s so many character moments to be had! With August, Neal, Gold, Henry, and Emma in NY and Milha and Rumpel basckstory….and delving into Rumpel's daddy issues! Sounds like their going to be giving us a lot of things to be obsessing about during the next hiatus. 😆

However, this makes me feel better and I’m really excited about it:This has been my only complaint this season…they went much more slowly last season in relation to character development. And this episode sounds slam packed full of stuff…better not blink our eyes or we’re liable to miss something.
One of the things she said that intrigued me was that the nature versus nurture issue would be heavy in this episode and with Rumple/Neal/Henry and a flashback of Rumple’s dad being involved I’m wondering just how all that will play out. We pretty much know Neal is Bae so Henry is Rumple’s grandson and was raised by Regina for 10 years yet he seems like a sweet kid. So I would say nature won out since Bae was sweet natured.
Yet for all that Regina came across as a loving person that was turned by the nurturing(if you can look at it like that…his influence at the very least and manipulation) of Rumple (her being his apprentice) and became like her mother and now is with her mother. I’m not convinced that nurturing has won out here quite yet though…I still have hope that Regina will find her real self again…the one that Daniel knew…never the less I do like having evil Regina back again at least for a while…she’s great either way.
I do wonder if Neal and Emma will even get the chance to iron out any of their issues…the comment she gave that their reunion was interesting didn’t sound all that encouraging…I think most of it might focus on the Bae side of things rather than Neal and turning her in to the cops 11 years ago. Looking forward to the Neal/Gold interaction though.

That episode is about Snow’s mother, right? I remember Ginny saying something about that episode exploring Snow’s relationship with her mother and it’s affected her relationship with her own daughter, Emma. And maybe during all that mess there’s some Neal talk? Or.. probably more than likely they’re going to spread out that conversation the rest of the season… lol
February 12, 2013 at 9:23 pm #172791mich7ParticipantWell at least we know that Neal is in The Queen is Dead. I’m thinking it goes back to Snow wanting to stay with Emma in our world and PC wanting to go back.
PC said that Emma could take care of herself…if the father of Emma’s child suddenly shows up in town I think that Snow is going to wonder where she fits into everything because it makes it look like she is no longer needed.
Not saying that Neal and Emma have to be together for that but from Snow’s perspective there would seem to be shrinking room for her in Emma’s life. And that if Emma needed anything Neal could take care of her and didn’t really need Snow…in other words it forces Snow to see Emma even more as a grownup because here is this man she had a child with…a kind of in your face moment. And cue flashbacks of Snows relationship with her own mom.
February 13, 2013 at 12:14 am #172835lilredParticipantI’m wondering if Neal and August (born FTL but like Emma grow up here) will even want to go back. I can see all three of them being rooted in this world.
Plus, the bean crop was noted in Tiny as taking a century to grow before they could harvest – It’s probably not really going to be a serious option unless some magical plot device happens to speed it up! 😀

February 15, 2013 at 6:00 pm #173536schmackyParticipantWay excited! And totally nervous that Emma is gonna be heartbroken. I don’t like seeing her so sad 🙁
I mean, I do for dramatic sake, but I don’t…

I think it will be the opposite as Emma hasn’t really been good in any relationships, and Snow holds her grounded remember last year when Emma tried to leave town with Henry? MM straightern her out real quick so I think Emma will need more of that since I don’t think Emma can handle both Neil and Henry at the same time plus fighting Cora and Regina. in my humble opinion.

Agreed. Plus, in season 1 Emma told Snow that Henry’s father was no hero and that Henry didn’t need to know the truth. Snow will probably be initially worried on multiple levels. That conversation and Rumple as Neal’s dad are probably both bad starts. When she hears the rest of the story she’ll probably really want to guide Emma to help her daughter and family. Should be interesting to see the Charmings’ first meeting with Neal.
So excited for Sunday. It’s going to be a rollercoaster of an episode, isn’t it?
