here is a wild crazy theory.
what if Belle is now pregnant and Rumpel knows he will die trying to save Henry in honor of Bealfire. what will he do? will he abandon the mission in honor of one child in order to come home to his other child? he came home for Bae even though he had to injure himself and become the village coward to do it, why would he not run home to his new child with the woman he loves?
I hope it doesn’t happen but imagine!
what if he would be afraid to come home without Henry because he would worry that Belle will hate him for it the way Mila hated him for deserting the war?[adrotate group="5"]If they intended Belle to be pregnant of Rumple they’d have showed us a scene heavily suggesting an incoming sexual intercourse between the characters, which did not happen in any season 2 episode. Also, it’s too early in the show’s lifetime for the characters to deal with a baby and Rumbelle is not emotionally ready to have one – if any baby storyline is going to happen before the series finale it’ll be for Snowing, they’ve been in that state since the Pilot.
Yeah, I agree with Demileto. While I really want a Rumbelle wedding and a Rumbelle baby someday, I think it’s far too early in the game. And it would feel too soap opera-y and drama for the sake of drama instead of character development.

Oh, I agree that they probably had end of the world sex, but I don’t think it’s going to yield a baby at this point in the game. Belle’s going to be very buy being Mayor Belle and I think once Rumple comes home they’ll really develop as a couple over the rest of S3 and we might get an engagement in S3 if not a wedding.

They hadn’t even kissed in the Dark Castle until just before he cast her out, she only stayed at his house for a few days (at most a couple weeks) before moving into the library caretaker’s place after which they took things slowly, and they were still learning to trust each other when she was pushed over the line (which, even being as generous as I could be with my timeline…is only 25 days after the curse broke). I can’t see him having sex with Lacey (and they only had like a day together like that anyway) if he hadn’t with Belle…and there wasn’t time between her taking the drink and their showing up at the docks, despite all the fanfics suggesting there could have been.
Not saying it’s impossible, but it seems unlikely given their personalities. Rumple’s a bit of a gentleman and a family man anyway (yes, help the maid out of the carriage after telling her how dark you are…), despite the implied relationship with Cora, and Belle’s a romantic lady; they’d both be somewhat particular about doing things right (whatever that means). They’re also both capable of incredible patience, as passionate as they are about each other.
(Actually, I don’t think he had intercourse with Cora either, though maybe everything else. Otherwise, how could she be so very certain that any child she bore wouldn’t be his?)

I don’t know if we actually know how much time was in between the drink and the docks, but I agree that he did not sleep with Lacey (or Cora back in FTL). I guess I kind of go back and forth. He was very emotional in the shop and he could have found comfort with Belle but there were no hints of it, whereas they have no problem showing Snowing obviously in bed together.

No offends to Rumbelle fans but they are still a minor couple and the major one- snowing- will always come ahead. I actually think the writers didn’t expect there to be as big a Rumbelle fan base as there appears to be and neither did I! So they haven’t planned for any bigger Rumbelle storylines.
And Ginny has practically bullied the writers into giving her another child! And even that is a plan for season four!
On the other hand I totally think you should write it as a fanfic! That’s what I do, I use my fantasy storylines for fanfic inspiration.
And that’s how Leo Henry Blanchard was born (no pun intended!)Well, even if they DID have sex at some point, they’re both too smart to risk a pregnancy they’re not ready for. And again, that romantic/family man dynamic comes in–I think Rumple would insist on being married before having another child, and Belle would want that. Between magic and general knowledge they’d find a way to avoid that risk. I think they’d both love to have kids but it’s still very early in their relationship if you don’t include the years of separation. (They’ve had like 3-4 months together at the most, 2-3 of those in the Dark Castle, unless you can find a way to stretch out season 2 that I haven’t–and if so, please tell me, because it’s a timeline headache).

A lot of S3 is probably going to focus on Rumple repairing his relationship with Nealfire–once he find out he is alive of course–and throwing in another child at this point is unnecessary drama.
As to who is the more important couple: I agree that Snowing is a major couple, but I don’t think Rumbelle of SF/CS are any less important. The writers saw the explosion of Rumbelle after Skin Deep and planned accordingly. They have stories for Belle as individual and as part of a couple. I agree that if there is a new baby it will most likely come from Snowing but that’s just because they are further along in their relationship than Rumbelle. And GG suggested a baby for Snowing, she did not bully them into it. She knows that A and E are going to write their show how they want it.
