I found it interesting that Kurt and Owen are from New Jersey. We know that Neal lived in New Jersey at some point too, according to his wanted poster in “Tallahassee.” What if Neal and Owen/Greg somehow knew each other?
Yeah, this show is careful about that stuff. I think August, Neal, Greg, Tamara are all connected even if they don’t know it (thought I suspect Tamara does know it)

When I first read that she was going to be Neal’s fiancee, I didn’t want to be one of those crazy shippers that wishes death upon her or hoped that she would turn out to be evil just to make her an easy obstacle because I don’t like it when other ships have done that to Neal or really any character that I like in a pairing just because they might like a different pairing. I was also apprehensive because the track record with this show and minorities isn’t very good, so I was hoping that Tamara wouldn’t just be some cardboard villain or basically just a plot device to keep SwanFire apart for longer.
However, now that it looks like there is something suspicious about her, I hope they just go all out and make Tamara a really BAMF since they’ve written themselves in a corner now with Regina because she’s the most entertaining when she’s being evil but if she keeps being evil then the good guys look moronic for not trying to take her out. I know they were trying that with Cora, but unfortunately since Barbara Hershey didn’t want to become a regular of the show, there was a lot more telling than showing of how evil/scary Cora was, imo. So I just want a good villain again that really steps up instead of wishy-washy Regina, incompetent Hook, MIA King George, and dead Cora. I just want a villain to step up his/her game, and maybe even get the better of Rumple this season or next season and who doesn’t throw a pity party every episode.

March 18, 2013 at 1:06 pm #180677RumplesGirlKeymasterThe numbers don’t matter, I think, but the fact they are from the outside matter. I think that’s what Jane Espenson said.

My friend explained to me that there’s a real life Greg Mendel who is a botanist, more specifically he alters plants genetically. We thought that it could possibly mean he may have the key to making the magic beans grow faster (since in Tiny, the giants said it takes a century.)
I do agree that Kurt is probably in the asylum, and I kind of hope he for some reason didn’t age either because I really liked that actor! I know that wouldn’t make any sense because Henry grew, but still. For a split second I wondered about that one creepy guy who’s always mopping the floor of the asylum, but I discarded that idea! (But seriously, who IS that guy??)
This idea of Tamara being “Her” is totally making sense to me! I love it. I also love the idea of Tamara being super evil, because without Cora, we need some ACTUAL evil. Not just kinda evil. š

Agreed. The only person he’s got on video using magic is Regina. He’s gathering evidence so he can blackmail her into telling him what happened to his father, or he’ll expose her to the rest of the world.

Yes, Gregor Mendel, the father of modern genetics, who did experiments with peas, which has led many to speculate that he’ll be involved somehow with growing the beans.

So he just wants to destroy Regina for locking up his dad. I hope we get some kind of awesome reveal and the real world comes swooping in in the finale.

I imagine he has spent years driving down that road trying to break the barrier. Remember, at the moment he broke through, Rumpel and Belle were standing ON the line, like keeping a door open. So he is probably doubtful about getting outside help. He probably wants to figure out exactly what he is dealing with, so he can find his father and get out safely. The other thing, he is a sci-fi fan (star wars ring tone) so maybe he is thinking they are aliens or something. Even seeing Regina levitate things might make him think of the “force” rather than magic. Similar I suppose but magic is crazier!

The curse is what shielded SB from the outside world and created a barrier. I think Regina, Emma, and August were able to come and go as they pleased during the curse, simply because they are all fairytale characters who were unaffected by the curse. Henry is an interesting exception, since although born in Arizona, both of his parents are from the EF and remained uncursed, which is possibly why he could cross the town line. I doubt Regina could adopt any random kid from the outside world (besides Owen/Greg who was already inside the town limit), and that is why she could only adopt Henry, who happens to be a fairytale character born in the outside world.
When Emma broke the curse, the town became visible so that ordinary people like Greg can now cross the border. It was only when Mr. Gold brought magic to SB that the people of SB, who’d been affected by the curse to have fake memories, could no longer leave without forgetting their true FTL identities. Yet, magic being in SB has only kept residents of SB in, but it hasn’t managed to keep outsiders out. It’ll be interesting to see whether Tamara (who may or may not be ordinary) can cross the town line unharmed.
