Like what? His ship?
that would be my first guess, not exactly sure tbh but I think we’ll find out in his centric for sure. Up till then they’ll probably keep getting hints. Still as huge as it would be for Hook to have given his ship for her I think it may be even something bigger than that.

If your theory is true, the JR is my first guess as well. The only problem are the 317 pics we have of it being in SB, with Hook, Smee, Henry and Emma at the docks. So if he gave it up, then it *magically* came back? Very possible, of course. That which is lost is often returned on this show. 🙂
I think each episode leading up to The Jolly Roger will give more hints. Nice little breadcrumbs.

At this point I think the evidence is just too thin to be definitive. My gut says there’s a price for him returning and that it’s not malicious.

I never said it was malicious?
All magic comes with a price, so if he did give something up–JR, something else, then yeah of course there is a price.
I’m just hashing out with you, not trying to attack anything.

Hook could’ve given up the boat. Seeing it in SB could mean he gets it back, or Emma/Neal/someone finds out he gave it up and gets it back for him. It could also be a flashback – they haven’t really done SB flashbacks but tbat doesn’t mean they can’t.
Something big happens or happened with that boat. They wouldn’t have named a whole episode after it if there weren’t. So I think something happened with the JR and Hook is hiding it.

no no I wasn’t saying you were! Lol I was just kind of putting pieces out there like a profile of what it could be. I know I can be confusing when I type my thought process sorry.

Hook isn’t lying about anything, he just doesn’t want Emma to know he spent 364 days crying on the deck of the Jolly Roger singing “All By Myself” before he could pull himself together to go get her.

Yes and he made a picture of Emma like he had one of Milah and he spent his days and nights crying looking at it 😛
March 26, 2014 at 6:01 pm #255842Jenna_BParticipantHey now! My pirate doesn’t cry! He’s manly and strong and whatnot…yeah, and he totally spent the first few months drunk out of his mind and sobbing all over the JR. 🙂
I don’t think he’s hiding anything particularly bad though. I think it probably is just stuff he knows Emma will internalize (because Emma internalizes everything) and doesn’t want her to waste her time doing that.
My headcannon: Killy spends some time ‘regressing’ after finding the JR…doing piratey stuff and whatnot – nothing too bad, just yer basic piratey things. After a while he realizes how empty that life is now, and he can’t just go back to his old pirate self. Around this time he meets up with Neal (I don’t know how, details, details) and he gets involved in whatever’s going on with Neal and Belle and at some point CaptainFire kiss, make up and hatch the plan for Hook to get Emma and bring her back to SB to help break the new curse/save Rumple.
I don’t think he’s trying to betray Neal or anyone else and I don’t think he’s hiding anything about Neal with malicious/selfish intent. I can definitely see both Hook & Neal agreeing it’s best to not burden Emma with stuff she can’t do anything about or doesn’t directly affect her or Henry.

Before he left, he tells Snow, “I’ve always been a pirate, my lady.” I could totally see him dealing with his pain by going back to the life he once had. It’s what people do when their lives suck. Find something familiar and comfortable and live in that for awhile. I wouldn’t fault him for it.

Exactly. They both realize that they are a distraction. There is an evil witch with a curse! Forget this love triangle nonsense and *save the town!*
