What makes Henry more important than destroying SB?

I think that was him instantly caring for Henry as he clearly cared for Bae an regretted turning him over. He realizes he is an extension of Bae thus an extension of Milah and he will be able to fix the mistake of giving up on Bae by helping Henry.

For our main characters, all relationship roads lead to Henry (for the moment).

I have to say though that in the end I believe all paths lead to Rumple. I remember back when this show started, A&E telling how the show was made to showcase RC. If Henry is truly Rumple’s undoing then that path will return to Rumple at some point, not stay focused on Henry.

Kind of odd isn’t it, that almost every one of them feels they have something to make up for something:
Rumple for the lost years with his son, choosing power over love
Regina for giving up on being good
Snow for killing Cora
Hook avenging Milah’s death and losing Bae
And then Emma and Neal, not wanting Henry to grow up like they did (and perhaps Hook too, on this one)

what if like belle said and we have all thought undoing isn’t what rumple thinks.. maybe rumple has his shadow torn from his body.. that’s his undoing? to save Henry?

What if the original Dark One is in Neverland and is trying to get his power back?

I think that Henry being Henry: Grandson of the Dark One, born on earth, with a magic background might make him the perfect vessle for Pan to leave Neverland and THAT might be why he wants him. If he has the powers to see into the future like Rumpel he would know exactly who he needs and would not stop till he found him.
I wonder if Hook knows who Pan is and that is why he gives in so easily to Rumpel’s truce. Because he knows Pan will skin his crocodile for him

Not only that, it would be the literal “skinning of the crocodile” referred to by Hook during the season and Spinning Gold here in the forums (just above my comment here).

The “Peter Pan and the Home Office” thread at https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=4061 also addresses this.

I like the idea that Peter Pan may have lost his body and needs a replacement which can be attached to his shadow – and Henry is the only one who serve as that replacement.

Rumple seems to know that to save Henry he needs to sacrifice himself, Hook might know that Peter might be able to kill Rumple… So, it´s not exactly a secret, is a hope that everything goes acording to expected, at least for Hook.
