Was looking at the Baelfire page on the Once Wiki: http://onceuponatime.wikia.com/wiki/Baelfire
In the comments, someone posted this:
When asked about Bae being in Storybrooke, Robert says, “So far, there’s nothing to do with him in Storybrooke.” This interview took place after filming 1×19 and right before filming 1×20(so he had the script for 1×20).I know he can’t say anything, but if Bae was in SB, I’d imagine he’d say something like, “You’ll have to watch and see.” He point blank said there’s nothing. So I guess that’s evidence leaning towards August NOT being Bae, since the producers said we’ll find out who August is in 1×20.
So I googled that quote from Robert and found another mention of it with a link to this youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hL2kLVIObA8Around about the 1:50 mark the interviewer starts asking him about Bae.
Interviewer: Will we see where his son is?
Robert: You will certainly see where his son has…..gone to.
(He choses his words very carefully then laughs, cheeky bugger.)
Interviewer: Will we get to explore what their relationship looks like in Storybrooke? Or do they not even have one?
Robert: So far there’s nothing to do with him in Storybrooke. But you will go back and see them. I’ve just completed episode 19, called The Return, and that actually takes place, you recall back in episode 8 where he becomes Rumplestiltskin and the kid runs away, just roughly that moment, or maybe 4 – 6 months after that moment.
(then he talks a bit more about what we’ll see but I can’t be stuffed transcribing the whole thing, then ends with…)
Robert: So he makes a deal with his son. Bad, bad, bad news.I haven’t looked up to see if I can find where that other statement the person made about Horowitz/Kitsis originated from, but if Robert is telling the truth, then there’ll be no Bae stuff in Storybrooke in The Return, so no matter who he is, we won’t actually find out until The Stranger. Unless Robert’s lying. Oooo, maybe HE’S Pinocchio. LOL 😉
PS. I puffy heart Mr Carlyle’s accent.

Robert said that Rumple makes a deal with him and that it is bad news… This is seriously not a good thing. Poor Rumple…Sounds like he had to learn the hard way that all magic comes with a price.
p.s. I masively heart Roberts accent too…he oozes sex apeal!!!

Yes indeed. No wonder he makes sure everyone knows up front that there’ll be a price. He’s showing them a courtesy he wasn’t afforded himself.

I like that idea!
April 7, 2012 at 4:22 pm #141231lissyParticipantSo he makes a deal with his son. Bad, bad, bad news.
Uh oh. So he starts his deal making trade mark with his son. I think Bae is going to try to get rid of his fathers curse with fairy magic, and in return, get himself injured using it.
April 7, 2012 at 4:56 pm #141238SlurpeezParticipanthjbau cited another interview: “As Robert Carlyle told us of the late-April installment, “It goes back to the moment he became Rumplestiltskin — and [his son] can’t handle this person his father [has become]. He wants me to give up the power.” Alas, that is much easier said than done. (Or as Rumpel would say, “Things always come with a priiiice.”) “He has to be stabbed through the heart to give away that power, so that can never really happen — but something else does,” Carlyle teases with a (non-maniacal) laugh, adding his own, “Dot, dot, dot….http://storybrookemirror.tumblr.com/post/19758087662/matt-spoils-the-return-of-rumpelstiltskins-son
Since Rumpel makes a deal with his son, Bae, to get rid of his dark powers, there must be dark consequences to that deal since magic always has a price. Therefore, something bad must happen to Bae. Since Carlyle also said, “You will certainly see where his son has…..gone to,” it makes me think Bae gets transported out of SB, possibly to a place like Neverland.
However, Kitsis and Horowitz sort of made it seem like though we see Rumpel and Bae make a deal, we may not see the outcome until next season.
Are we going to see more of Rumplestilskin’s son?
EK: Yes. And you will understand what happened between them. I would say there is great stuff with Robert and the son, as to where it is–I would say not this season–perhaps.
AH: Or we might this season–perhaps. The character of Baelfire, Rumple’s son, does come back later this season, whether it’s in Storybrooke or in fairy tale land, how that plays out, we want to be a surprise.
EK: In other words, we want you to keep watching.
