What was Ashley getting in exchange for her baby?

Setting aside that a contract to procure a baby is completely illegal and no court in the world would have enforced it (this is Storybrooke after all, so the regular rules don’t apply)….. What was Ashley getting in return for handing her kid over to Mr Gold? I don’t remember her saying anything like “I’ll pay the money back” (presuming she was getting living expenses while pregnant). She certainly did not have riches or ballgowns There was no sort of attempt to negotiate anything. Not to mention she is taking a big risk assuming he has only one copy of the contract.

Did I miss something?

The deal happened in the fairytale land. She traded her baby for the help to get to go to the ball and get out of her bad situation.

I think weedith is referring to the deal in Storybrooke. Sean’s dad said he made the deal and Ashley would be paid handsomely (compensation) for her troubles, so she was going to get a lot of money for giving up the baby.

But she changed her mind because of what Emma said 😀

I think the deal made by the boy’s father with Gold was a false memory for Cinderella / Ashley. The first deal was in FTL but since they came to Storybrooke there had to be a cover story.

Everyone has an alternate story that shadows what occurred in FTL.
