I kind of think it could be a magic bean? I am hoping Neal is Bae so that would fit. Thoughts?
[adrotate group="5"]November 5, 2012 at 3:02 am #159479malchoreParticipantThis was already stated in the initial reactions podcast tonight, but it was one of two things: Either it was the drawing of The Dark One’s Dagger (with Rumpelstiltskin etched on it), or it was something else, something magical. I don’t remember Pinocchio carrying anything with him as he was placed into the wardrobe before be transported to Earth. (Maybe something in his pocket that we didn’t see.)
If it was the drawing of the dagger, then that is proof positive that Neal is Baelfyre. It seems odd to me, though, that August would have any knowledge of Baelfyre, and therefore why would he think a paper with a drawing of a dagger on it would totally convince someone to listen to his crazy story?
November 5, 2012 at 3:45 am #159492faux paxParticipantIf it was the drawing it would have to have been a pretty big coincidence that August had the one thing to make Neal (Bae) believe.
What ever it was I wonder if it had anything to do with the final preparations the fairies were making before the curse stuck.
November 5, 2012 at 4:07 am #159501hannah97ParticipantAt first I liked the drawing of the dagger theory, but then I realized that Pinocchio wouldn’t have known about that. Baelfire was the only person in the world who knew of Rumple’s weakness, and Rumple would kill to make sure it staid that way. No, it must’ve been something else… But what? Whatever it was, Neal understood the meaning immediately, and he didn’t question August when he mentioned the curse, which makes it seem that Neal is from FTL or at least has some connection to it. It also tells me that August has done his research and knows exactly who Neal is, and what he needs to show him.

That was my first reaction too, that it was the book. But wouldn’t the book have been in Storybrooke with Mary Margaret? Otherwise how or when did she get the book? I always figured the book was in Storybrooke when the curse hit and MM had it the whole time. Otherwise why not just confront Emma and show her the book? (Yeah I know she didn’t believe when Henry showed her but by this time she had been betrayed and brokenhearted. She was a cynic.) August came through with the clothes on his back. Maybe the whale carving? Was there anything in his room at Granny’s, proof of FL that could have been in the box?

August’s license plate is from Kansas.
Maybe it’s something from Oz-related? Ruby slippers? A flying monkey? LOL. I think it’s time for me to give up and go to sleep.

But didn’t August pretend to be Bae? He knew to call Rumple ‘Papa’ and he knew about the dagger because he tried to control Rumple. So it is definitely possible that the picture of the dagger is inside the box.

That’s true he knew about stuff between Rumple and Bae he had to have gotten it from somewhere?
