My theory about Pinocchio just showing the effects of his ailment was shot down the only one actually so I don’t know where they’ll go from here. What can finally shake Emma out of her denial!

Henry dying, in my opinion. I know some people are saying that he’s the only one keeping Emma there, but maybe if his last words were “Please, believe…they need you…” or maybe if he nearly dies and her magic saves him….

It has to just hit her hard and be painful in order for her to believe.

I agree, it would have to be Henry that convinces her. It would be cool if she accidentally uses her magic, and her hands glow or something and then Henry is healed. Hopefully the use of her own power will be enough.

Well it could be her true love for him that brings him back or out of a coma- which I like more personally rather than death, which is just so final lol 😉
I think it’ll take more than just that though- she needs support at the same time (the kind she was meant to have but didnt get thanks to Gep & pinno/August) to believe, as in she needs a couple of friends to back her up & tell her it’s not insane to believe in the curse/FTL/magic – ones she trusts & ones she knows have no reason to lie about it. – Archie would be good (MM &/or PC would be great, but its unlikely from the hints the cast has given unless we are moving into breaking the curse in S2),. Mr Gold believing would knock her socks right off me thinks lol :p

Just a thought but what if all the people who need her to believe hit Emma with an intervention type thing to finally get her out of her denial. The mad Hatter is suppose to be back for these next two episodes. So what if the whole is greater than the sum of the parts (I think that’s how it goes) Henry, August, Jefferson, they all tried to convince her on their own but if all of them do it at once? Throw Mr. Gold in there too, maybe that gives them a better shot some of this is gonna end up coming down to a leap of faith anyway but I think it’ll be easier if they all work together. When I think about it though her reaction to being told by August isn’t completely one of someone who doesn’t believe what she’s being told. It sounded like she does believe but is overwhelmed by the responsibility and doesn’t want to face it. Maybe it’s not a matter of believing in magic or curses but a matter of Emma believing in herself. Hence the line in the promo “you might not believe in curses but I believe in you.”

For Emma to believe, I think that MM and David will have to believe in conjunction with a tragic event like Henry going into a comma and reviving.

I don’t think that they should do an intervention because then Emma would just think they were all in collusion with each other and making it up. And had like made sure they were keeping their stories straight. And Jefferson should not be on Emma’s friends list and Gold is shady so i don’t think that would work. It is only Henry that Emma trusts that believes right now which is the problem. If Snow remembers then that might help i think.

I know this wouldn’t happen..but if both Henry AND Mr. Gold are saying the same thing about the curse being true..they’d be on such opposite sides of the spectrum for her…that I actually think that would do it. Why would Mr. Gold agree with Henry…

I know right- could you imagine the shock of that revelation on her face 😉 :p

One of the promos I read from E! online stated that one of the main charectors dies in the next few episodes and it is a death that we can’t imagine will stick…

The preview showed Henry falling down unconcsious and Emma screaming his name. Maybe he is killed somehow by magic and she has to use magic in order to save him. We know that Jeffereson probably went back through the hat. If he comes back to storeybrook maybe he does something to Henry to “kill” him in order to force Emma to use magic to bring him back…

No matter what Happens I agree with everyone else in the sense that Emma does maybe believe she is just scared to take the responsibility. I also think that truely believing would call into question her own belief system and the way that she conducts herself. She lives from the stand point that she was abandones and unwanted. To go from that to the exact opposite is a tuff pill to swallow. I also think Henry will be the key for her…this show has a huge theme of parents love for their children and the desperation it drives someone to.
