What would you ask "Gepetto?" ;)

I may have a chance to ask a question of Tony Amendola, who plays Gepetto in OUAT, at a science fiction convention my husband and I attend every July in Toronto. 😀 Just found out he’s going to be a guest.

So … what would YOU ask?

Did you ever fall in love & what happened to that person? Because in Storybrook he was apparently married but that could have been a false memory implanted by the curse. So I’m curious if he was able to have a wife/girlfriend during his adult life before having Pinocchio.

Awesome! If you have an audio recorder with you, could you get him to say something like, “Hi, this is Tony Amendola or Marco and Geppetto from Once Upon a Time, and you’re listening to ONCE”?

I will if I can, but no promises. 😉 It might be doable if he’s on a panel … or if I bump into him in an elevator, which has happened with guests before! 😀

Plus, we’re taking our boys with us this year and things will probably be a bit more hectic than usual. But I will see what I can do.

Hmm. Are we asking him as Geppetto or as the Actor?

If we’re asking the Actor, I’d ask about the official backstory/psychology he was given to play Geppetto as, and also, where does he draw his inspiration from, as an Actor, for the character.
Sort of a side angle on the psychology of Geppetto is, I’m wondering if Pinocchio was just a carved puppet and Geppetto was just a lonely, delusional man. You know, like kids’s dolls and stuffed animals are really alive to them and they go on adventures together but it’s really just “play time.” Except, for Geppetto, could there have been some psychological damage from a bad Life experience and Pinocchio was his way to escape the pain? I know in the Once-iverse we’re seeing the BF, Pin and Gep all interacting within the storyline but I’m just wondering about how the actor played it. Was it real or illusion?

If it’s the character, Geppetto, I’d ask, about any past relationships, if he knows what the other enchanted trees were used for, and why his decision to force the Blue Fairy to agree to his deal on the Wardrobe was more important than all of the Realm or anyone else in the Realm.
