Mmmkay guys, so while still unconfirmed, its looking like OUAT may poof out at least one more season.
Knowing that JMO and possibly most of the cast is leaving, that the current story will be wrapped up by next weeks 2 hr finale, and that we have some new actors coming along:
What Are Your Theories For The Future Of OUAT?
Regardless of whether or not you think the show can or will survive, what direction do you think the showrunners are going to take us in? What directions do you want to be taken in? What directions do you not want to be taken in?
Do you think its possible that the show can reinvent itself and actually be BETTER than the original?

Although I honestly don’t see how they can do that without messing up the timeline even more than they already have. Although I wouldn’t put anything like that past A&E.
Another one that I saw was that it’s a Wish-verse Spin-off set in the future. There’s the Evil Queen, Hook and Rumple over there. There’s now no Emma, Snow or Charming. If Andrew J. West is indeed playing an older Henry, they don’t need Jared over there either. It also fits in with the theory that Alison Fernandez’s character is Regina & Robin’s daughter.
Although I wouldn’t put anything like that past A&E
Anyway, I don’t know how to feel about the wish realm theory. Its interesting because its not confined by the continuity of the real show and thus is a blank slate for all the characters, alive or dead. Buuuuttt it feels cheap and it doesn’t feel real because we know these aren’t the genuine article, so it would kind of be hard for me personally to get invested in them. There is a name for this thing where if a person is offered something they own versus something that is an exact replica, they will still chose the one they own because they have, like, emotionally imprinted on it. That’s how I feel.
But I think that’s somewhat highly possible.
One thing I can say that I think is for sure is that we will see Grownup Henry. I think that this reboot will be him trying to find his own story and be a hero by saving other people. He wants to be a Savior now, and thus he will have a new villain to defeat as all saviors do. The little girl might just be some orphan he saved and was like “Hey….you wanna go on an adventure kid?” But RH and EQ’s daughter makes sense. Although it makes the family tree even weirder. RH has a son with marian, a daughter with zelena, and then his doppleganger has a daughter with the EQ, meanwhile the actual Regina has no bio-children and RH is actually dead. Gosh.
As for Emma’s absence, I actually don’t want the story to be about finding her. Just let it be explained her and Hook are off somewhere living their HEA and I will accept that and the final episode will see her return.

Uggh. No thanks. The timeline is already a mess and frankly we’ve seen their “prequel” with flashbacks over the past 6 years!

i think they are fine actors. I just think the material they were given was crap. Jasmine came off as whiny and Aladdin was just….ehh. Both under utilized in my opinion. Same with Jafar. Fine actor. Terrible writing. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of them but maybe not as mains. Unless the reboot plans of incorporating WL and this agrabah.

Some things that I suspect may or may not happen:
– Magic will be “destroyed” OR Magic will be unleashed across our world and not limited to Storybrooke. They could go either route with this, but I do wonder if they may take a break from some of the more fantastical elements to try and ground the show again.
– The wall between lands will close off in order to protect them from the destruction of the new curse.
– Storybrooke will be destroyed / the show will be set elsewhere next season. Again, this could be good for the show because it features very few “real world” locations these days and relies heavily on CGI. CGI costs money and they have said that they want to cut costs (although losing cast also helps with this).
– Emma will not die
– Someone will be “banished” in the same way that the Black Fairy was. I could totally see them using this as a way to get rid of a character but have them return at some point.
– The new cast members are non-magical and have not been exposed to magic before. This could be used as a way to reintroduce the concept of magic in a grounded way.
– Zelena will die OR not. They have either beefed up her role in recent episodes because a) they are going to kill her off and want it to have more of an impact or b) because she will be featured more heavily moving forward (presumably alongside Regina)?
– If people stop believing in magic, does it still exist? The word for the finale is apparently “belief” and it would be interesting for them to play on the fact that a lot of the fans don’t believe in the show anymore.
I like the idea that magic gets exposed to the rest of the world. The whole Greg and Tamara thing once hinted that people outside SB were aware of magic and that it caused trouble once before. I still think The Home Office is an actual thing that Pan just sort of pretended to be. So that would be interesting. Seeing the effects of magic in our world. How would people deal with knowing their fave childhood stories are real. Or that they now have the ability to learn to teleport or fly.
Or that there are horrible terrible creatures like dragons and ogres and dwarves (Oh god dwarves, the most terrifying beasts with their giant eggs and big ears!!!) exist.

Baelfire is restored to life by Zeus (who owes Rumple a favor) he poofs to life in front of his father and immediately wants to know why he’d summon him back, ‘I was in heaven papa! I was happy!’ then Rumple tells him that Emma, Belle and Henry have been banished to another realm and are in terrible danger and he needs his help to save them because he now has no magic (ignoring the magical interference of Zeus when logically it should’ve been an easier favor to bring back his living loved ones than the dead one because ignoring logic makes the writing feel real at this point). Father and son team up to take down Black Fairy (or whoever) and get back to the ones they love.
Meanwhile Hook and Regina are trapped together in Wonderland (a chance to tie up some Wonderland loose ends) and as they team up to get home they slowly fall in love paving the way for Emma and Baelfire to get back together in the series finale for all the happy endings. THE END.
