I’ve not been able to contribute lately (wedding plans!) but with one week left i at least wanted to have a bit of fun with some head canons before we start! So here are a few I have going:
1) Eric meets and marries someone else before/during the curse, marrying the original Hans Christian Anderson Tale with hope for Ariel to find a new love during season 3. Yes, I’m a Hookriel shipper. No, it’s not *just* because I ship SF. I don’t want any ship to ever be convenient, or “make way” for another. I just really think it could be magical and romantic. A way for both of them to come from lost loves and find another. And Ariel has always wanted adventure and the opportunity to see other lands, never rooted on one place. (Plus, I never liked Prince Eric).
2) THO: I really want The Home Office to be part of a much larger organization than what we’ve previously speculated. They have said that THO has been around “for years”, ridding this land of “magic”. I want it to go back to the Spanish Inquisition, the Salem Witch Trials, The Holy Wars (ie King Arthur). Make it an organization that goes back centuries, not just decades! And I would *love* for there to be some sort of Dharma nod, as well: “What about that other island we’re investigating?” “Oh, Dharma has that covered. We’ll have more information shortly”.
3) PP is Rumples brother. But Rumple doesn’t know it. Rumple was abandoned and left with his father’s legacy at a very early age. What if Rumple grew up only wanting to be a good father because he never had one, and made himself a doll that represented a son he would have someday = his “happy thought”, very akin to the storyline in “Hook”? I think he made that doll as a child, and PP took it with him after he peeked into his family. I can’t get behind Rumple being a lost boy, but a connection to PP? I want Rumple to have made that doll as childhood dream of a family, just as Bae always wanted a family. And Rumple screwed it all up, and Felix throwing that doll at him just reminded him of how far he had grown from the man he once wanted to be.
I hope I did that spoiler code right…

That being said, Neverland could be like Pan’s own version of a “The Most Dangerous Game.” Maybe NL plays with people’s minds such that they unwittingly peel off from the group. Hook might be able to guard against Pan’s tricks, having lived there for centuries. Emma, being True Love, might be protected against the danger of NL the way her heart was protected against Cora’s dark magic. So maybe by the time Neal shows up, Hook and Emma are the only ones remaining who aren’t captured. Then the three of them must band together to save everyone else.

I like it! What would lead Charming, Snow and Regina away?
Regina = Daniel? Visions of Henry? Visions of her past ill deeds?
Charming = his mother? his brother? Charming is always so steadfast that I’m not sure what it would take.
Snow = her father? her mother? what she “did” to Regina? Her own dark heart?"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"September 23, 2013 at 11:17 am #211610SlurpeezParticipantslurpeez108 wrote: Headcanon for S3: Neverland is a place full of Pan’s traps, according to Hook in the newest promo. I have another theory that NL is a place where people experience living dreams full of regret, like Regina said Snow would experience under the sleeping curse. If so, then all of those scenarios might be enough to cause otherwise strong individuals to have illusions, visions and dreams of regretful life-experiences.

He’s more childlike and capricious though, because he enjoys the fear and excitement that comes from messing with people that way.

September 23, 2013 at 8:19 pm #211696sacrlcParticipantJust for kicks, here are mine:
1) PP and Rumple are brothers. Rumple’s father is described as dissatisfied, selfish and ruthless. Rumple desperately wanted his father’s love and attention, but his father considered him weak since Rumple was kind and loving (this is what Belle sees in him). All his father’s attention was on PP because PP was just like his father.
2) Rumple had a different birth name and his father renamed him Rumplestiltskin to make him “tougher”. His birth name is Mr. Gold’s first name.
3) The doll is Rumple’s childhood toy that was made to look like Rumple’s father. PP stole it from him and taunted him with it when Rumple was a boy.
4) After Rumple became the Dark One, he visited NL for the squid ink and had a run-in with his brother. PP and Rumple are in an uneasy truce.
5) Rumple and PP’s father discovered NL and set PP up as it’s keeper/ruler. Before PP arrived, NL was a happy place.
6) Henry is being sought by 2 entities – PP and another yet to be named. PP wants him killed to keep NL a dark place and the other wants to keep him alive to bring happiness back to NL. It was prophesized that Henry would restore the happiness. Can this also explain the different references for the “lost boys” and the “lost ones”?
7) Owen will be shocked to find his mother is a mermaid. Ariel left NL heartbroken about Eric and traveled the ocean to see how other people live. She met Kurt who loved her for who she is.
8) Tamara will be shocked to find that her parents are Marian and Lancelot. Marian, Robin Hood and Lancelot were in a love triangle. Robin Hood got Marian and Lancelot got banished.
9) Tamara’s viewpoint was influenced by Wendy – who told her that magic was bad like Bae said.
Don't grow up. It's a trap.
September 23, 2013 at 9:18 pm #211702SlurpeezParticipantPeter Pan could be cursed as Rumple is cursed. For example, Peter Pan is a boy who could not age and Rumple is immortal (doesn’t age). By contrast, Henry was the only boy who could age in a cursed town. Peter Pan can rip shadows similar to how Rumple can rip hearts. Rumple is called the Dark One while PP has a dark shadow that is afraid of light. Hook calls both Pan and Rumple demons.
Neverland might be cursed similar to how SB was cursed. Maybe Rumple got the dark curse from PP. Time is frozen in Neverland just as it was in SB during the curse. Wendy said that time she spent in NL seemed so much longer than one night while the people in SB were in a haze and simply gong about their routines. A person who sets foot on Neverland can never leave, just as cursed people could not leave SB. There exists a “curse of the mermaids” in NL. When Bae went through a bean hole, magic followed him, according to the official podcast for 2×21. Also, Wendy said the shadow started showing up at the Darling residence around the same time Bae did.
Henry could be destined to be a savior, too. At Comic-Con, E & A said Neverland runs on imagination. What fuels imagination? Belief. Henry is the Truest Believer and as such, his belief might be the very basis for imagination, the backbone of NL.
At CC, Ginny Goodwin said belief is the basis for all magic-making. It wasn’t until Emma believed in the curse that her innate magic broke it and her magical ability kicked in. It could be that belief is also what makes fairy dust (i.e. magic). Back in “Dreamy” the Blue Fairy said that fairy dust is what fuels the world. Well, where does pixie dust come? Could it possibly come from children’s imaginations? It’s happy thoughts and pixie dust that allow a child to fly. In NL, every time a child says “I don’t believe in fairies” a fairy somewhere drops dead. But, if a child says he believes in fairies, it could save the life of a fairy. So, Henry’s belief might be what it takes to save the lives of Tinkerbell and other mystical creatures in NL.
Also, as we discovered in 2×22, the Home Office’s real purpose in activating the failsafe was to isolate Henry, kidnap him and take him to Peter Pan. Peter Pan has been searching for Henry for centuries, way before he was ever born. This could signify that Peter Pan conned Rumplestiltksin into casting the dark curse in the first place, all because Peter Pan has long seen how important “the boy” aka Henry would be. Now that Henry is in Neverland, we’ll soon discover the reason. It’s probably that Henry is the Truest Believer, and Peter needs his heart to fuel imagination, which is what NL runs on. Perhaps Henry is key to undoing whatever curse NL is currently under.
Lauren came up with this part of my new-fave crack-theory: The Blue Fairy is Peter Pan’s mom. Here is my add-on: Blue is PP’s mom and therefore she wants to save PP from his curse (I think the shadow is holding him hostage). Blue has the gift of foresight and knows Henry will be the key to freeing her son, Peter, from his yoke of perpetual adolescence. Oh, and Tinkerbell is Pan’s baby-sitter whom BF assigned to watch over her son!

BF killed her lover, the first dark one… she thought she was saving him by putting all the magic into the dagger but he died from his wounds, she couldn’t save him and this turned her sour on love. why her alter ego is a nun shes doesn’t want to chance loving and hurting again.
September 25, 2013 at 2:32 pm #212042SlurpeezParticipantCrack-Theory: Just as Snow gave birth to Henry in 1×1, so Emma will give birth to Henry in 3×1. Just as Prince Charming told baby Emma to “find us” when he put her in the wardrobe, so Emma wished for Henry to find her one day. Ten years later after making a wish on a Blue Star candle that she wouldn’t have to be alone on her 28th birthday, Henry showed up on her doorstep. The fact that Emma made a wish upon the Blue Star (aka Blue Fairy) is highly significant in my estimation. I believe the Blue Fairy had a hand in ensuring that Henry would find Emma one day; part of the BF’s “final preparations” were to help write that book. Later on in SB, Mother Superior gave that storybook to Mary Margaret, who in turn, gave it to Henry which made him search for his mom, Emma.

September 29, 2013 at 11:42 pm #212930JosephineParticipantI’ve added to my headcanon:
The huntsman gave Snow the leaf whistle to blow if she’s ever in trouble in Season 1. He was then taken by Regina as her personal …ahem…slave. If she ever blows it, he can’t come to her rescue. But my headcanon is that Snow will blow it and Robin Hood and possibly his Merry Men will come. That ties Robin Hood back into the story with other characters besides Rumple and Belle. Every other character has multiple connections. I predict Robin Hood was one who taught Snow White how to go from Princess Snow to Bandit Snow.
