There has been some talk of what would happen when/if he shows up in Storybrooke(he really has to, otherwise there’s not much point in the postcard and Neal asking to be informed when the curse is broken), and I thougth it would be nice to collect all the ideas in one place.
First, let’s all agree that Neal may or may not be Bae, just as he may or may not be Peter Pan or any other character that people have speculated about.IF he’s Bae, I’ll look forward to him seeing his father again. That scene will be so unbelievably heartbreaking. He will probably really hate the idea of his father creating the curse, that ruined so much for a lot of people, all because of Neal/Bae. I can see him object really strongly against it with Rumple/Mr. Gold desperatly trying to make his son understand.
I’d also love to see Neal/Bae interact with Belle. It would be awesome if they had a scene where they just talk about Rumple and their relationship with him.And even if Neal is not Bae, I cannot wait for him to meet Henry. The shock he’ll feel at that reveal will no doubt be precious, and he’ll likely hate himself even more for letting go of Emma. And August is going to be one dead puppet when Neal gets his hands on him. That is if Neal gets to him before Emma does when she finds out the truth.
It will also be interesting to see Neal interact with Charming. Charming has really become a father figure to Henry, and it might be difficult for Charming to let go of that when Henry’s real father shows up. And it will also be hard for Charming simply as Emma’s father, because Neal is the guy who got his daughter pregnant and just left her all alone. I think any father would have a hard time warming up to such a guy.

Sometimes this show has more ACTION segments and not enough dialogue and evaluation scenes..

I AGREE WITH YOU….. I think Emma will kick both their butts…. regardless of what reasons/ rationale they give to her for their actions. It is not like she could not have had her own life and still manage to break the curse. They had no right to make the decisions for Emma. THIS WILL BE SOME ACTION THAT I WANT TO SEE…..

Good point. Charming could come after him with his sword.
I also think the flashbacks in “Tallahassee” and seeing the mystery man (Neal) in the premiere would be a total waste if he never came to Storybrooke (which is exactly that Jane Espeneson hinted at on twitter). I mean, he waited ten years to complete her destiny or whatever. If he didn’t really care about her, he wouldn’t have asked August to send him a postcard if she followed through with her part.
Plus, I think it would be an interesting show down between Hook and Neal, fighting over Emma’s affection. Sexy pirate with a hook for a hand vs. Neal, a former thief and father of Henry.
I know it maybe unlikely on this show but I would love the dynamic and the relationships on this show even more if he turns out be Baelfire. That would make Rumpelstiltskin Henry’s other grandfather. He would be forever tied to the Charmings. That just makes me so giddy. 😆 Can you imagine the family gatherings? Completely dysfunctional to no end. 😆

I really don’t want to see that happen. Love-triangles rarely work and just add a lot of unnecessary drama. But that’s just me.

Has…to…happen! I want Grandpastiltskin at one end of table and Grandpa Charming at the other end sending each other evil looks during Christmas and Thanksgiving dinner! (I have actually read a couple of fanfics with this kind of dynamic, and they were so good!)
November 21, 2012 at 4:01 pm #161538evilqueenParticipantok, so apparently Jane Espenson, when asked about Neal coming to Storybrooke, she replied “What makes you so sure he is coming to SB?” which makes me think – it's obvious he has some connections with magic, otherwise he would've acted differently to August's mystery box. Maybe he isn't coming to SB at all but straight to FTL????
Anyway, if/when he’s going to SB, I would love to see Emma kick his ass for deciding her future for her. In the end this ruined everything she could have and changed her view on the world around her. True, this is also August’s fault, but let’s be honest – Neal has been around Emma long enough to know her better than this. If this was so important for her to go to SB and break the curse, why couldn’t he just try to convince her himself? Or, even, “by accident” take her there for “random spontaneous holidays” and see what happens? And, personally, he’s no match for her anyway, it would be way too predictable if the two ended up together again.
One thing I’d like to see is how would Emma go about telling Henry about his father – she lied to him about this before so it’s a super-delicate area right now!November 21, 2012 at 5:11 pm #161554obisgirlParticipant@TheLadyBelle wrote:

I hope mine was one of them 😆

December 2, 2012 at 5:46 pm #163261evilqueenParticipantah, but he does, a little, given the reasons why he did what he did. If he knew, he would possibly be pursuing him. But I wouldn’t like that either – what I think more probable is that the show wants to explore HENRY’S rights in regards to Neal. In the end boy has been asking Emma about him and wanted to know as much as he could.
December 2, 2012 at 6:53 pm #163270JosephineParticipantOmg, I love the name Grandpastiltskin so much. I’m going to have to steal it for one of my fics, The Lady Belle. I haven’t heard that, even on Tumblr.
I think Neal does have some rights. He had no idea he had a son. I’m not saying he should get custody, but the boy needs to know his father had no idea of his existance and Neal should be able to get to know his son. If Emma had the chance, despite her sordid past, then why shouldn’t we give Neal the same opportunity.
I don’t see Henry’s story or even the show as anti-adoption. I don’t think Eddie and Adam went into it with an agenda in mind. People like to put meaning on things that don’t exist. Twist people’s words around. I think this is just a version of fairytales where adoption is a part of the story. Henry’s not a poster-child for any cause.
Keeper of Rumplestiltskin's and Neal's spears and war paint and crystal ball.
