In the end, I don’t think “True Love” should be confused with “Real Love”. I think that all of these women had real love in their hearts at one point, and I think “real love” is all around in their world, while “true love” is so much rarer. Instead, I think that “true” refers to the people themselves who have love in their hearts. Belle is true to herself. All she wants from Rumplestiltskin is for him to be true to himself.

..not only to be his true self, but the “best version of himself.” Before he became corrupted with power. 😀

Actually, I think the best version of Rumple would be the current one but without magic or at least the temptation to use it. His ability to love could actually thrive for a change, but he would still have the wisdom of someone who has seen power corrupt first hand. That would be a man who makes choices not out of desperation, but with careful consideration. Rumple’s struggled a lot over the centuries and despite his flippant attitude I think it would be a discredit to say “forget who you’ve been these 300 years and be just like who you were back then”. The pain is part of who you are, after all.

    .

Yes, that version too. I was referring to the rumbelle phone call from The Miller’s Daughter.

so I’ve made a list of characters we’ve talked about so far:

    August
    Belle
    The Blue Fairy
    King George
    King Xavier
    Regina
    Cora
    Henry (Jr.)
    The Genie/Sidney

If there’s anyone I’ve missed, let me know.

Below are some characters I’d like to talk about.

Stealthy (the 8th short-lived dwarf who sprung Grumpy from prison in 7:15 a.m.)
    Prince James (original)
Graham (I know generally, he is loved but I’m curious if there’s a small minority out there who didn’t really mourn him when he died. I love Graham too. I’m just curious).
    Nova

    From your list

    1) I have no issues with Stealthy. I liked that there was another dwarf that no one knows about because he died before Snow really integrated with them.

    2) James is on my ick list. Arrogant and after “Tiny” I really don’t like him.

    3) The Sheriff Who Shall Not Be Named. *cries*

    4) Nova was just annoying. I didn’t hate her, I just found her to be annoying. But I love Amy Acker!

Stealthy? I hate that he died and we’re stuck with Sneezy, Doc Happy and…let’s just collectively call them “Snoozy”. Grumpy is awesome but the others are so just background wallpaper. Stealthy though it reminded me more of a smurf name was awesome.

James was fun to hate–and fun to watch Josh Dallas do. We need more James because he was just such an arrogant …insert your curse word of choice. It’ll all fit.

Graham ….and Nova…didn’t feel too strongly about.

Original Prince James, I expected him to be a jerk. I mean, look at who raised him, the biggest jerk in all of fairytale land, King George. So seeing that in Tiny, I just went: Okay. He’s a jerk. Not really a surprise.

Although, it was nice to see Josh Dallas’ chest in that one scene. 😆 😆 Ginny is one lucky girl.

Haha, I feel like so many of the characters on your list are ones that fans “love to hate” as it were. We despise them for their actions (or inaction) and their motives- but that also makes them exciting to talk about.

To be honest, most of the people on the second list just failed to make an impression on me. “Aw you’re sweet. Ugh, you’re awful. Hah, like the leather jacket” was about as far as I got.

I guess Graham is the one that made the most of an impression on me, just because we see the most of him. To be honest, I think I was less sad to see the loss of the character than the loss of the information he’d just obtained. I could tell that he was meant to be a favorite for the audience, but I also felt like I didn’t get the chance to know him- possibly because during his time in Storybrooke he’s under Regina’s thumb so he barely knows himself. I did enjoy seeing him come back for the flashback scenes, however. Those little reveals did make me smile and made the world feel just a little more cohesive as a whole. Yay! Continuity!

I’m looking forward to the comic exploring the relationship between him and Regina. I feel like given a bit more story I could come to like him a lot.

    I agree.

    Now, who else ❓

    Red.

Considering she was updated to regular, she’s not really had a presence this season beyond babysitting Henry and being a plot device. She suddenly gained the power of super speed to stop Whale’s suicide, yet hasn’t been shown to use that at all in FTL past. Unfortunately Red’s going to have even less presence in season 3 because of Meghan Ory’s new show.

All magic comes with a price!

I really like Red but I feel as though she was totally under utilized this season. I don’t think that’s H and K’s fault. They have a lot of characters and I don’t know how much more of Red’s story they thought they could tell. What else is there? Red Handed was a great episode with the shocking twist that she was the wolf, but Child of the Moon was one of my least favorite episodes. It fell flat and was, for me, obvious filler. Since then she’s been around less and less. It’s understandable that Meghan decided to look elsewhere, though again I do not blame H and K. Maybe they had bigger plans for Red but with so much going on, stuff has to fall to the side and I don’t want another Red story just because they feel they HAVE to give her one.
