I’ve had this thought for awhile, because when we see Hook in The Queen of Hearts, he’s alone. Maybe Smee leads a mutiny against Hook and that’s why he returns to fairytale land alone.

Do you mean Hook returns to FTL alone?

    Yes.

I think Smee said that he was in Neverland when the curse it and it grabbed him from there.

I don’t remember that so I’ll take your word for it. Though, as far as we know, Regina never met Smee so I don’t know why she would him useful/feel the need to bring him along.

Smee was an original resident of fairytale world; like how Jefferson was in Wonderland but the curse took him too because he was originally from FT world.

The “original resident” idea might work, except there would need to be a reason Bae was not picked up by that, though it could be the curse isn’t completely logical either–it is magic. Plus it doesn’t cover Whale. Though that could be a case that (as people have discussed elsewhere) that the curse took all of FTL except the bubbled people, plus anyone that Regina had a particular grudge against, wherever they were. That wouldn’t of course, explain Smee. So then it’s back to saying, maybe it isn’t logical, it is magical and the meta-reason is all that mattered to the writers.

There was never a clear statement that Smee was in NL or in FTL for the record.

The Crocodile “Mr. Gold: No, no. Not about Moe – your captain. Where is he?

Smee: I’ve never seen him in Storybrooke, I swear. For some reason, when the curse hit, it… It didn’t take him.

Mr. Gold: Then, where is he?

It’s possible Bae could have been here already, thus when the curse hit, it wouldn’t need to bring him over.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

Yeah, I know Daniel has mentioned a couple of times in recent podcasts that Smee was in NL when the Curse hit, but we really have no indication of that as far as I can recall. IMO the above quote suggests that Smee was in the same world as Hook (FTL) when the Curse hit, thus his confusion as to why Hook didn’t also end up in SB.

It is funny how quickly an assumption can get perceived as fact. There are some things in the show that I was sure went one way, then when I look up the dialog, I realize it isn’t what I thought. Guess the future isn’t the only thing that isn’t what it seems!

Yes, I think it’s far more likely that Hook took Smee to FTL when he went Rumple hunting (Smee is his right hand man after all) but Smee was left outside the Bubble.

How did you guys feel about OUAT’s interpretation of Jack? I thought it was an interesting twist to make her a woman, but then again, they also made Ruby the Wolf from Little Red Riding Hood.

My honest interpretation? I really disliked her. A lot. Useless character that I never want to see again, I don’t need a flashback of her, I don’t need her story, just let her be dead. The twist that she was a woman was fine, but not nearly as exciting as Red being the Wolf. Tiny was one of my least favorite episodes this season (I think I ranked it right behind S, B and T) because the flashbacks were so flat and dull and predictable (also didn’t like the SB stuff. The only good part of that episode was the Rumple, Emma, and Henry stuff). I’m all for strong femme fatale’s but she was annoying and pointless. She also bears my name so my interpretation might be a little personal. 😆 😉
