I really hope not because Sleeping Beauty is either my first or second favorite Disney movie..Beauty and the Beast is the rival..I tend to be more like Belle but I love Prince Phillip in Sleeping Beauty because he fights a dragon for her and suggested he was willing to give up his kingdom for her…and she was willing to do the same for him..She did not want to be a princess when she found out she couldn’t be with him…which is why I wonder she might be the “Anastasia” mentioned by Jane Epenson or I suppose it could be Ariel since she is willing to give up being a princess too for Eric but technically he is a prince and she is aware of it so I don’t know if that counts..

We’ve heard Maleficent and Regina making reference to that story, so safe to say we’re gonna get it on the show at some point. Though obviously the story won’t end the same way, because in the Once-iverse it was Emma who slew the dragon Maleficent at a later date.

oh and just speculation but maybe the bow and arrow that Rumple gives Snow is actually Robin Hood’s bow and arrow…
My theory is it was Cupid’s. An arrow that always finds its target and ended up hitting Charming and bringing back their twu wuv? Totally Cupid’s arrow.
and maybe Sidney is also Jafar because at the end of Aladdin was that not who became the Genie since the blue Genie was set free…
Yep, Jafar wished to be a genie in the end. Can’t believe this is the first time I’ve seen it suggested that Sidney may have been Jafar, coz now that I think about it, it seems kinda obvious and would make perfect sense. I’d thought the Anastasia character sounded potentially Jasmine-ish, and if they were gonna do Aladdin’s story, they could show Sidney’s origin story as well.
July 2, 2012 at 11:01 pm #149402zlfh4ParticipantHmm that is definetely plausible and they did mention they wanted to do Aladdin at some point I think…Iiked the idea of Sidney as Jafar because given he is evil it would explain how he could possibly love someone as evil as Regina plus I think Regina kind of looks like Jasmine and Jafar did want to marry Jasmine….and i think I saw a possible flying carpet in gold’s shop and I know I have seen gold polishing that lamp more than once during the course of the season..Have to admit i think aladdin would be fun to see and wasn’t jafar’s role to the sultan as royal adviser which is basically what he is to regina at least in FTL as the magic mirror….Now who could be Aladdin? Fun!!!

Don’t assume Alan Dale (King George) and newly promoted series regular Emilie de Ravin (Belle) are the only former Lost actors you’ll see as Disney characters on ABC’s Once Upon a Time next season. The drama’s creators (and former Lost producers) Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis tell me they’re hoping to find a part for Jorge Garcia now that his Alcatraz has been canceled. While the producers wouldn’t say what role they have in mind for Garcia, can’t you see him as Pinocchio’s demented puppetmaster, Stromboli?
They did reveal a few characters who will be making their debuts in Season 2: Ariel from The Little Mermaid, as well as Aladdin and Jafar, the Royal Vizier of Agrabah, from Aladdin. Kitsis suggests Naveen Andrews (Lost’s Sayid) as Jafar, and with her ruby red locks, don’t you think Rebecca Mader (Charlotte) would rock a set of seashells under the sea as Ariel?
Just for fun, Lost’s former executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof chimed in with their casting thoughts. Cuse suggests “a fantastic twist with Josh Holloway revealing that Prince Charming is an impostor and he’s the real prince.” And Lindelof would get a kick out of seeing the hated Nikki and Paulo as Lady and the Tramp: “I just want to watch those two share a plate of spaghetti!”

PS. I found the link where they were mentioned.

July 14, 2012 at 1:22 am #151742gwendlParticipantAm I the only one who is really confused about why Mulan is in there? How are they going to work that in?
July 14, 2012 at 7:28 pm #151826SlurpeezParticipantMulan, a legendary female warrior from an ancient Chinese poem, was in a Disney feature cartoon. I’m guessing her story will be similar to that version, but with a OUAT twist.
