Mulan just won’t have to do with China. That works fine. She will just be a Mulan like character. I doubt Peter Pan is going to have anything to do with England. And Belle had nothing to do with being from France.
[adrotate group="5"]July 14, 2012 at 8:47 pm #151851SlurpeezParticipantMulan the character may not be from China as we know it today in our world, but we did see a door in Jefferson’s hat portal that many have speculated could be “legendary China” (for lack of a better term) and part of Mulan’s backstory.
I know Belle wasn’t French, but she was “foreign” sounding (Australian accent).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osq8wpz5l2A&feature=player_embedded#!
1) So here’s what I got — Unicorn (isn’t that Emma)
2) Is the next one Rumple or is he usually a spinning wheel? Could it be Captain Hook? Robin Hood?
3) Next is a fairy, but doesn’t look like the Blue Fairy with her jellyfish dress. Who could it be? Reminds me of Granny for some reason…
4) Then a white horse — Prince Charming, I believe.
5) Genie — could be our story with Jafar.
6) Next, looks like a man on a white horse protecting with sword in hand a woman on a black horse, any ideas?
7) A wolf? This could be Graham or Red…. Probably Red since she has been upgraded to season regular.
8) A rider carrying torch?
9) Okay, this is a girl with a cape — This one should be Ruby/Red, so maybe the previous one with a wolf is Graham.
10) August is next, riding his motorcycle, so unless they have a new motorcycle-riding character we will be seeing more of his story.
11) Frederick will be back.
12) The dragon representing Malificent is in this opening sequence.
13) Jiminy Cricket/Archie
14) SW and the dwarves
15) Wonderland
16) Gingerbread House/Hansel and Gretel?
17) Definitely a girl riding through hard on a horse
18) Smokemonster? Gamechanger?
19) Mulan
20) Sleeping Beauty (is that Rumplestiltskins spinning wheel?)
21) Jack and the BeanstalkThese are some great hints. Where however, is Ariel, Belle, Regina, Rumple, Henry… not that I mind. I know our main characters will be there throughout the season. I was wondering though about the three episode arc they talked about with Regina’s mother, especially now that we know she is the miller’s daughter. Also, The fact, they are introducing Captain Hook makes up for almost eveything since I am a Peter Pan theorist where Bae is concerned, but what if he were Captain Hook? I am loving thinking about the possibilities. But it also tells me the writer’s are working on some idea regarding Peter Pan and even if he weren’t introduced this season, perhaps they will get enough worked out with the rights this year to bring him in next year, using Captain Hook this year as the intro.
July 15, 2012 at 11:37 am #151940thewendybirdParticipantAs my name suggests…..BIG Peter Pan fan here…BIG. But they better do it right. I’m sick of seeing the name of Barrie’s original story dragged through the mud. It’s a very dark tale and I’d like it to stay the way it was intended while still having all the childish fun. REALLY hope they don’t turn Hook into a goofball like some versions do. If they follow the shows pattern….he should be pretty darn scary.
July 15, 2012 at 8:00 pm #151977SnickerdoodleParticipantOK, so I am playing catch up from a more than expected busy summer, but i want to say how nice it was that none of you chewed me out for my assumption that the series of opening title sequences shown at comic con were all for season 2. So, I saw that some of those opening sequences were from the first season and only some of them are hints for season 2, so the question is which ones, and who is not to say there won’t be repeats from season 1?
I just finfished looking through the season 1 opening sequences and will also include a list for comparison. The ones I have now highlighted with BOLD are the new ones — hint, hint 🙂

1) So here’s what I got — Unicorn (isn’t that Emma?)
2) Is the next one Rumple or is he usually a spinning wheel? Could it be Captain Hook? Robin Hood? (this represented the trolls in first season)
3) Next is a fairy, but doesn’t look like the Blue Fairy with her jellyfish dress. Who could it be? Reminds me of Granny for some reason… (was fairy godmother in first season)
4) Then a white horse — Prince Charming, I believe. (This is not one I found in the first season sequence, the charming centric episode The Shepherd actually had a dragon in the opening sequence)
5) Genie — could be our story with Jafar.
6) Next, looks like a man on a white horse protecting with sword in hand a woman on a black horse, any ideas? ( I did not find this in the first seasons’ opening sequences)
7) A wolf? This could be Graham or Red…. Probably Red since she has been upgraded to season regular. (This was Graham)
8) A rider carrying torch? (This was the opening sequence for Desperate Souls — arecruiting officer?)
9) Okay, this is a girl with a cape — This one should be Ruby/Red, so maybe the previous one with a wolf is Graham.

11) Frederick will be back.
12) The dragon representing Malificent is in this opening sequence. (Actually this was used for a Charming centric episode — The Shepherd)
13) Jiminy Cricket/Archie
14) SW and the dwarves (from “Apple Red as Blood”)
15) Wonderland
16) Gingerbread House/Hansel and Gretel?
17) Definitely a girl riding through hard on a horse (This was from “Stable Boy”)
18) Smokemonster? Gamechanger? This was the finale’s opening sequence)
19) Mulan
20) Sleeping Beauty (is that Rumplestiltskins spinning wheel?)
21) Jack and the Beanstalk. So , I think I am back on the “right ” page. Kind of fun to see what are the new ones. Most of the reporter’s knew the last three, but not #4 or #6. And some thought August’s motorcycle was Emma’s Bug and was a new sequence. I used this link http://ouatv1.blogspot.com/2011/11/easter-eggs-opening-sequence.html to double check. They did not have episode 6, so I had to look that up.
July 17, 2012 at 9:17 am #152152SlurpeezParticipantSPOILER: Another role is being cast for episode 2.01 of Once Upon a Time.
Prince Phillip, who has been on many long, hard journeys, and is a warrior from a kingdom that is no longer as well off as it once was.
He is a guest star.

July 17, 2012 at 9:46 am #152155PheeParticipantSo I guess we’re probably getting Sleeping Beauty in ep 1? Kind of fitting really, considering everyone in Storybrooke just woke up.
July 17, 2012 at 9:57 am #152156SlurpeezParticipant@ Phee: You’re right; the Sleeping Beauty story is very fitting, since it’s as if everyone is awakening from a long slumber.
Also, it just occurred to me that Prince Phillip being from a less-well-off kingdom sounds familiar and very similar to Prince James’ story with King George.

July 17, 2012 at 11:17 am #152158miaParticipantTriplets? 😉 😆
I wonder if we’ll see Aurora in 2×01 also, or if Prince Philip will appear in more than one episode.July 17, 2012 at 11:31 am #152159antbeeParticipant@slurpeez108 wrote:

It does seem fitting that Sleeping Beauty is the first fairy tale that they tackle right away.
Also, I agree that it does very familiar that Prince Phillip’s kingdom wasn’t doing that well either. I do think there’s some kind of truth to the theory that Fairy Tale Land was dying, and the Blue Fairy saw that it eventually would, so she had to find some way to get everyone here without getting her hands dirty or at least not as dirty as Rumple’s.
I’m not saying that she’s a Big Bad but that she might not be wholly good either. Since she believes she’s on the side is right, it makes sense imo that she would be okay with the ends justifying the means if it meant that everyone would have eventually died on in Fairy Tale Land if they hadn’t been brought here by the Curse.
