Even though I’m late in just now getting to the forums and we may know the identity of the Wicked Witch after tonight’s episode airs, I have to point out what may have been a clue in “New York City Serenade.” I assumed the Green Lady we saw was the Wicked Witch of the West (W^3) but it is interesting that Emma and Walsh were eating in a restaurant named “Ostria” since that name is very similar to “Osten” which is German for “East” (The name “Austria” comes from the German “Osterreich”.) Might we actually be dealing with the Wicked Witch of the East? Or, since the restaurant was in our world, could it be an indication that our land represents the “East”, so the Wicked Witch comes from another land (Oz) which would be the “West”? Cast your vote for either W^3 or W^2E!

Oeste is West in Spanish, too.  FYI.

@Slurpeez108 pointed this out but I think that the “Ostria” is a reference to OZ itself (OStria = OZ) not necessarily to any type of Witch.

With her green skin, the audience is going to identify her as the Wicked Witch of the West automatically, thanks to the 1939 movie. In the books, the WWW didn’t have green skin but since then it’s become a cultural signifier after the movie (for example both “Wicked” and “Oz the Great and Powerful” have the Witch as green skinned even though neither one is associated with the MGM 1939 movie).

In a lot of articles about the Witch Adam and Eddy have said that they aren’t calling her the WWW but just the Wicked Witch. So I don’t think the direction will come into play, just that she’s the Wicked Witch and probably has connections to Oz

Good observation obisgirl! (I should have remembered my Spanish instead of my German.) The Spanish reference is more significant since we know King Xavier’s kingdom has been depicted as having a strong Hispanic flavor. That convinces me that the green lady is the W^3, especially since we saw at the end of the episode that she has some relationship with Regina.
