Agree Cinders. A&E are pretty cagey sometimes, but I felt like their answer about Greg Mendel indicated a certain “who cares anymore” attitude from them. They forget they tweeted he was “rotting”? That Tink said there wasn’t enough of him left to find his body, implying he was eaten? More importantly though–why would they waste a question on HIM of all people? Then again, that’s happened before too that someone asked about some minor point or something in a lightening round

Yeah, I got that feeling too. Belle definitely but I really think after that lightning round Hook is safe, too. Which leaves one last man standing.

Yeah I think they’re done with Greg from their response

Warning, this article DOES spoil major deaths that have occurred on other TV shows. I do still think its a good read, as it can give us a better understanding for how these decisions have been made in the past:
I read this article, which just kind of confirms that it could be anyone!! LOL. I wish it gave us more insight into WHY the decisions were made.

I think he’s a golden skeleton in Dead Man’s Cave, or Skull Rock, whatever. Never to see the light of day. Neverland is a ghost town I assume.

If true, it’s going to hurt…… If true, then I hope it’s because it was MRJ’s choice to leave; if so, then there’s no way I can blame Adam/Eddy……
Belle is definitely safe……..although I should have absolutely known that by her TV Guide interview with Bobby where they referenced a season 4. By then, Emilie would have been told whether she was being let go or not

February 7, 2014 at 8:27 am #243575sharonParticipantI’ve been reading all the theories regarding Hook or Neal being the one who bites the dust. I definitely follow the logic that it would be one of them in light of the love triangle. If the death truly came out of “the story” versus an actor/actress wanting to leave, I don’t think it makes any sense that either of them would die. The whole premise of OUAT is that the savior is to bring back the happy endings. From a fairy tale perspective, it seems logical that Neal is Emma’s endgame true love. Perhaps the TLK between mom and son saved the town the first time, this time around perhaps it’s TLK between Emma and Neal. Granted OUAT is known for twisting the usual fairy tales, but they’ve stayed true to the general idea of what Fairy Tale endings look like. Sorry Captain Swan fans – but they’ve been setting this up from the very beginning. Neal and Emma appear to be the end game. On the other hand, they took a huge detour with the usual character of Hook by making him “redeemed” so who knows?!
I’d like to propose that perhaps this whole death is what it usually has been – a red herring. They use the words “regular character” very loosely. I bet it’s not one of the core characters – but someone like “Grumpy” or “Geppetto.” Actually, I think it might even be Ruby/Red. They never did have closure to her character – and it’s sort of weird that she’s just not around anymore. Perhaps this will close the loop for good.

It’s definitely one of the main cast. Matt Mitovitch was told by Adam and Eddy that Rumple is the only one who could be ruled out, and it was between the rest of the main cast. Matt’s even got a poll up on his site, with the 8 main cast members as the only options.

Yep, and Matt gets a lot of good stuff from them; he’s not fooling around. When he wrote about that spoiler, he made it sound as if it was for good – no return, ever, for the character. Given that it’s a main character and someone they presumably like (even to a lesser extent, like Belle), the fact that this seems to be a permanent exit DOES make think that the actor asked out and A/E are protecting him.
