Something tells me, we are all going to be kicking ourselves when we find out who he is. One would think that a blatant clue, like him being such a womanizer, would give it away. I’d say Pepe Le Pew if Pepe weren’t Warner Brothers. 🙂

October 11, 2012 at 3:48 am #156328BelleOfTheBallParticipantI can’t remember the last time I posted, but I just needed to contribute to this thread!
I started reading this ‘Who Is Doctor Whale’ thread probably about an hour ago and I have read every post word for word and I just want to say… you all are AMAZING 😀
When I first heard the Frankie theory, I was a bit hesitant to commit… granted I was sold on Peter Pan (though I may have been biased as I love the character so much and I want nothing more than to see him on my favorite TV show 😆 ). But then the evidence just kept piling up and the more I read the more the theory made sense. There are so many links that I am not even sure what other characters to start to theorize about because this is such a strong argument.
I am now sold on the Frankie theory Episode 5 cannot come soon enough!
October 11, 2012 at 11:50 pm #156387crimson angelParticipantIs there not something to be said that we get episode 5 in October around Halloween? I think just like Mothers day being on the same day that Emma Broke the curse with a Mothers kiss. We are being given that same clue here. Dr. Whale is Dr. Franky. I love that ideal.

If personalities were reversed in SB then Dr. Whale’s womanizing lecherous ways is the exact opposite of Peter Pan’s lack of interest in the opposite sex. Plus, lets add in the fact that Peter Pan could NEVER be touched by anyone. I’d be happy with either two. If he does end up as Peter, than that would mean Bae is Jack.

October 13, 2012 at 8:53 pm #156568PriceofMagicParticipantWhilst the Frankenstein theory definitely has a lot going for it, I think Whale may be the wizard of Oz. Oz has been hinted to in series one. The red white and blue comment could be a reference to Dorothy and her ruby slippers.
I don’t really know much about the character but this is the info from wikipedia.
The Wizard is one of the characters in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Unseen for most of the novel, he is the ruler of the Land of Oz and highly venerated by his subjects. Believing he is the only man capable of solving their problems, Dorothy Gale and her friends travel to the Emerald City, the capital of Oz, to meet him. Oz is very reluctant to meet them, but eventually each is granted an audience, one by one. On each of these occasions, the Wizard appears in a different form, once as a giant head, once as a beautiful fairy, once as a ball of fire, and once as a horrible monster. When, at last, he grants an audience to all of them at once, he seems to be invisible—nothing but a disembodied voice.
Eventually, it is revealed that Oz is actually none of these things, but rather a kind, ordinary man from Omaha, Nebraska, who has been using a lot of elaborate magic tricks and props to make himself seem “great and powerful.”The bit I’ve bolded could play into the “animated like Roger Rabbit” clue and also Regina’s tired of listening to him line (I can’t remember the exact line.)
“using a lot of elaborate magic tricks and props to make himself seem “great and powerful.” could possibly tie to the God complex clue.
Anyone who’s more familiar with the character may be able to tie more clues to him.
All magic comes with a price!

The wizard of oz does give a brain and a heart. That we know of.

Now there’s an intriguing concept! When his business of reanimating the dead went awry, maybe he fled in shame and/or fear and ended up living behind the curtain in Oz. And he still couldn’t resist helping out folks in need of missing body parts, should the need arise.
Would that mashup mean that Dr Frank Oz is also Yoda? 😉
October 15, 2012 at 2:28 pm #156776pinkfairyParticipantJust wanted to add a quick note.
I see some have commented that his charater now is the opposite to his fairytale character. This is not so. The way he acts NOW is pretty much who he is. Still not much help to solving WHO he is but at least you can stop thinking along those lines really??October 20, 2012 at 8:06 pm #157351belle-fireParticipantI enjoyed and believed the Frankenstein theory so completely, I just made a bet with someone on it., They technically have a near infinite chance (if the character is anything But Frankenstein) but that just goes to show how strongly i believe this theory.
