A mesh-up of Dr. Frankenstein and Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde sounds spot on with what we know about Whale. But: could the show gain the rights to the Hulk? With the Avengers movie franchise so popular and active right now, I don’t think Hulk is a possibility.
Would love to see Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde be some type of action hero in the plot: he was one of my favorites in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comics.

Just to clarify, does your theory mean that Dr. Whale is both Dr. Frankenstein and the monster he created? After all, Ruby is both Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. If he is also the monster, it might explain the picture above of Dr. Whale with pale monster-like arms and also why his limbs might be falling off in SB now that magic has come. The picture of Dr. Whale with monster-arms fits the description of Mary Shelly’s novel Frankenstein. At first I thought it was just a bogus picture that David Anders posted to fool us all, but now I think it’s a leaked photo of him getting ready for his FTL back-story as the monster of Dr. Frankenstein.
Not really sure myself other than seeing a connection to Frankenstein be it the doctor or monster or both. However, I like your twist on the theory. At one point I even considered a twist on Jack & the Beanstalk with Dr. Whale being both Dr. Frankenstein and Jack and Jorge Garcia being the Giant and Frankenstein. However, Jorge hasn’t been seen on the set so that cancel’s that train of thought.
While I like the Frankenstein theory, because so many clues point that way, I’m still thinking about Dr. Whale being the main werewolf. The picture with his arms and hands all done up looks very much like the transformation scene from An American Werewolf in London. It looks like his hands are being stretched out into wolf paws with claws in the early stages of transforming. Here’s a pic of that.

Could very well be Cynthiapren and I wouldn’t discount your theory. However, I’m not sure how Dr. Whale’s clues fit in with the Hulk, especially the clues in Archie’s files or his lines in the dating video. Having said that, they led us on a wild goose chase with AWB and he ended up being the obvious character Pinocchio.
The green tape however is there as they are digitally enhancing his arm or removing it. Same as using a green/blue screen. So his arm isn’t turning green. If he were transforming into the Hulk, it still wouldn’t explain all the blood on his shirt.

Good points Cynthia. Perhaps he’s hiding his arm because he got in a scuffle with Red and it’s all torn up, thus the blood on his shirt. Whether it’s Frankie, The Hulk, Jekyll/Hyde, I’ll be happy to see any Marvel Comic Book character show up in SB/FTL. Still going with Frankie though you’re slowly swaying me 🙂
