Here is something funny that was tweeted to David Anders today. They say they know his true identity 😉

September 15, 2012 at 12:34 pm #153952TheGoldenKeyParticipantNow I know I’m big on the Frankenstein theory but I haven’t ruled out Peter Pan. There are lots of clues that make a good argument for this.
SB dating video: Dr. Whale – “sparks will fly”. Peter does fly and Tinkerbell might be considered as being rather sparkly with pixie dust. “Listen to the best of Sting”. Disney is re-releasing Peter Pan and did a recent poll on which rock star could be Peter Pan. The winner? You guessed it, Sting. They say he is forever young.
J.M. Barrie based his character’s name on Peter Davies (one of the children he told the story to) and the God Pan. Archie noted that Dr. Whale suffered from a God Complex. The God Pan was notoriously mischievous and considered a lecherous God (Ruby & Snow). Another entry states “he suffers from an inflated sense of self. In the Broadway musical there is a song titled “I Gotta Crow”. Here is a link to the lyrics: http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/peterpan/ivegottacrow.htm
Archie also states “frames himself victor in all conflicts”. Peter Pan is always the victor.
Spoilers in 2×05 state Regina is driving at night, in the rain, when she sees a mysterious person in the shadows. What if that was Captain Hook skulking around town looking for Peter? New stills released show Captain Hooks ship in Port for 2×06. What if Dr. Whale’s injured/lsevered arm is a result of Hook taking vengeance? Dr. Whale & Hook’s episodes seem to coincide with each other.
So many possibilities. I’ll be happy with either Frankie or Peter Pan though 🙂

The story of Frankenstein doesn’t connect with the rest of the worlds we’ve been introduced too- he certainly doesn’t belong in an enchanted forest. Every other character has been part of a legend, a myth, a fairytale, or a classic children’s book.
Personally, the God complex comment makes me think he might be some Greek myth character, but I really have no idea.
I hope he isn’t Peter Pan- while I can’t completely rule it out, I’d prefer that they didn’t age Peter. At least that theory is a little plausible. I can see a little of Peter’s personality in Dr. Whale, but I have my doubts.

from the Storybrooke Singles vid,“Every lucky lady gets dinner at Granny’s, a single carnation and a visit to my condo’ where I’ll play the ‘Best of Sting’ and the sparks will fly!”
Dr.Whale’s reveal scheduled for late October….. Halloween?
Whale – James Whale directed the first Universal Pictures 1931 film adaptation.
Sting – Appeared as Charles Frankenstien in 1985’s “The Bride”
Sparks – will fly as they did in Frankenstien movies from the electricity used to bring life to the monster.
Single Carnation – At the University of Oxford carnations are traditionally worn to all examinations; White for the first exam, Pink for exams in between and a Red for the last exam.
Percy Shelly, Mary Shelly’s husband, served as a major influence for the character of Dr. Frankenstien. Victor was a pen name of Percy Shelly’s, as in the collection of poetry he wrote with his sister “Elizabeth.” Mary saw her husband Percy as the mad scientist that he actually was at the University of Oxford.
Mary Shelly’s Victor falls in love with Elizabeth Lavenza, who became his adoptive “cousin” and, eventually, his fiancee.
Mary Shelly’s husband Percy has an affair and runs off with Mary’s stepsister, Claire.
Dr.Whale being Victor who falls in love with Elizabeth cannot stay away from Ruby!….
In episode 15, Red Handed, Granny calls Ruby…..”Liza”, which is short for Elizabeth. 😮 “just sayin”September 18, 2012 at 2:24 pm #154034TheGoldenKeyParticipant@Puzzled wrote:

Single CarnationWow Puzzled! Great stuff! The quoted stuff above I’ve already mentioned in an earlier thread last week along with other clues (my take on the carnation was a little different) but the rest of your clues are outstanding! I never caught the Liza bit in Red Handed, going to have to re-watch that episode again. Thanks for posting! Go Team Frankie!

Love the theory of Frankenstein. However, Granny didn’t say Ruby’s name is Liza. She was criticizing Ruby for wearing too much make-up and not enough clothing like a drag queen impersonating Liza Minnelli. Norman Bates is a reference to the horror-film Psycho.
Granny: “For another thing, Liza, you dress like a drag queen during fleet week.”
Ruby: “And you dress like Norman Bates, when he dresses like Norman Bates’ mother.”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_Q-KaPFAKY
