Obisgirl: I simply said the logic of what you’re saying didn’t make sense to me. In what way did what I write sound angry or upset? We have enough drama with out things like this, but I am not upset with you, but I do think it is best for you to be careful how you read into things, rather than looking for drama.

I wasn’t looking for drama. I hate drama. But when I read your post, I got angry vibes from you.

If Dorothy knew a young Zelena, it could have been 40 or 50 years ago easily, in which time Dorothy might have aged.  28 for the curse + some random time between Rumple and Zelena interacting versus when he started training Regina, which went on for a half dozen years we think.   Its hard to get it all the way back to the 1930’s though, but the 70’s would fit.   So if say Dorothy were a young girl like Zelena, maybe both around 10 (Doroth’s a kid in the book right?) –maybe she’d be in her 60’s or 70’s now.

I think you both misread each other. Let’s move on.

I think she has to be. She’s a kid in the book about 16 in the movie. Let’s say they split the difference and make her 13. She’s 13 during the Oz adventure which is 10 years before the original Curse. Then you add on another 28 years for the frozen time after Regina’s curse. 13+10+28 = 51

Dorothy has to be around 50-60

But would Dorothy be in our land? If so, that would create the same issue I had with Wendy being a real person in our land. If they are native to our world then WHY are they considered storybook characters?

In real life, Dorothy was based off a girl that L Frank Baum knew, who I believe died. So unless they are planning to copy what Witches Of Oz did and have Dorothy be the creator of the story, I wouldn’t like it if she is still alive in our land.

Wendy being a real person in our land is a problem, I grant, because they’ve now established Fictional London–but without the Darling Family. So yeah, that one is…*magic*

The same does apply to Dorothy–“fictional” character in our land, really from here, and somehow her story got picked up and written down but “wrongly” (which goes back to the question we’ve always had about how did the stories we know come about the way they did…), but all I can tell you is that the slippers take people to our world.

Jefferson: I got what you wanted.

(Jefferson hands Rumpelstiltskin a crystal ball.)

    Rumpelstiltskin: What about the slippers?

Jefferson: Oh. Couldn’t find ‘em. Heard talk they’ve already been moved to another land.

Rumpelstiltskin: That’s what I needed to get to that other land.

Maybe Dorothy isn’t from our land originally. Maybe she’s from FTL, went to Oz, had the Oz adventure, and then went to OUR land and was adopted by the Gale family.

There’s still the chance she is from The Land Without Color

Hm, that could be RG.  Dorothy could have gone to Oz from EF.

What I’m wondering is if that conversation with Jeff and Rumple was staged or not.   If Rumple knew there were slippers he wanted, why not go himself? Can he not go into Oz due to his magical nature?  Perhaps he could not have used those slippers, and perhaps he knew it.     The Witch couldn’t take them off Dorothy’s feet in the movie, and maybe it is something similar here where the Dark One’s magical nature prevented him from using the slippers himself.

If he wanted to motivate Apprentice #1 to cast the curse, tricking someone she cares about into using the slippers to go to Land Without Magic, that would be one way to approach it.   Now she has the same incentive he does to want to there, but of course, WHEN would you arrive?  He wanted to arrive when Bae would be there but how did he know?  He had that crystal ball and we know it lets you see into NL.

So many things just don’t add up here that it’s confusing with what Rumple forsaw and didn’t.    Still I think Rumple could be written as having played a role in separating Zelena from Cora, then from Dorothy before giving up on Zelena.  The question is what might have happened with Zelena that she no longer worked as an apprentice for him? Did she not have anyone she loved to kill off for the curse? Did she have moral reservations with doing that kind of thing? Did a flying monkey come along and give him magical fleas that chased him out of Oz (and let’s us do a Bugs Life mash…..)
I don’t know.  I doubt the last one but at this point I feel there is going to have to be some story of why Zelena didn’t work as Rumple’s caster, because I think he did know about her.  He only came to Regina when she was a young woman and that’s a long time to wait for an opening.

I forgive you @kfchimera but you should know, I’m usually one of the first ones to say, let’s not have drama here. So that’s one more accusation that I’m really not happy about.
